I hate that happen to you man!! Hang in there man, there is a company out there that will hire you. We have something they want, that CDL!! You need to learn from your mistakes!! Now you are better off because you are smarter because of what happen!! I choose them because the terminal was less than 100 miles from my house. I would have told them I would be at the house waiting on my trainer, 9 days is crazy!! I wouldn't have trained on a DG Account, I would told them I'm not on that account so you need to find me someone else. I bet you helped him unload that trailer everyday?? I wish he would think I would help him, that was HIS JOB yours is to DRIVE and get your hours!!! They told me in orientation that I would get that 500 bonus to stay out and delivered my first load and then I could go home for a few days. Well, They sent me on a wild goose chase!! They had me deliver a day cab to pick my truck up ( its sounds like that one you got..lol) It was a nice KW with less 300 K, SO I finally got my truck and I called my dispatcher and they gave me the run around about not being able to go home, I told them that I was going home that I would talk to someone in Allentown PA. They told me that I could go home but I would need to take a bus. I said no thanks, take me to the airport to rent a car. I drove 13 hours home and came home until my time was up before that would've fired me ( about a month) I called them and went to Atlanta to get another truck!! I also sent that 500 bonus in and they messed up and paid me..lmbo...I worked there for about 6 months until I found something better!! I WISH YOU THE BEST, HOLD YOU HEAD HIGH, YOU HAVE SOMETHING THEY WANT....CDL.CDL.CDL!!!

Try NFI Industries in New Jersey.
Also try Paschall Truck Lines; trucks have APU's.

You need to get on the road soon; don't let that CDL sit idle, the longer you're unemployed, the harder to find a new trucking job.

I was in the same situation as yourself last year with my starter company. Had a mediocre trainer who belittled me every chance he can get. He would gather all the truckers at the truck stop to watch me struggle backing into a spot, put his cell phone to the gear shifter so the person on the other line can hear the grinding as I struggled to shift gears, and would yell at me every chance he can get because I couldn't drive as well as he can. Going solo, I also struggled and had 2 accidents in one week (cracked the bumper while backing in, and knocked off the trailer door on a door killer. I threw in the towel and quit the company despite their pleas to stay believing everything that my trainer told me "You're not cut out for this", "If you're trying not to shift, then you're doing a great job!", "You're the worst student I've ever had. How did you manage to pass the test for your CDL?"

I sat at home unemployed for three months moping and feeling sorry for myself. During that time I came to the realization that "winners never quit and quitters never win" I let others dictate my own self worth, and internalize their opinions as my own. I learned to forget what everybody else think about me and continue on regardless of public opinion. I checked my DAC and MVR and to my surprise those incidents weren't listed, so I applied to another company who hired me on the spot and 2 weeks of training and 33,000 accident free miles later, I'm back on the road doing what I enjoy. I took the experiences (positive and negative) I learned from my first company and applied it to my current company to become a more cautious driver, though I hate to admit that I got stuck once this winter when the truck sank on soft ground.

I believe that you can succeed, and understand the feeling of being rushed. That's how I got 2 accidents in one week and learned to take my time and ###### what anybody else think. You should also apply the same concept because there are many people who thrive on keeping people down, trainers, dispatchers, and even other members of this forum. As the old saying goes "Misery loves company".

I would recommend that you check your DAC to see if anything is listed on there. Many companies keep minor accidents in house and don't report it to DAC. If there's nothing, then keep quiet about it and apply to other trucking outfits. A buddy of mine was fired from Werner last year for having a sealed bottle of vodka in the truck and went to Flatcreek out of Kinson, AL doing teams running coast to coast. He says he pulls down between $900-$1100 a week running from Florida to California. Maybe you should check them out and see if they're in your hiring area.

    Keep on trucking.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why Werner uses the bottom feeder, loser drivers as trainers?

Maybe when the guy was solo, he was a good driver by the numbers, you know, miles per week, on time percentage, low idle but just a jerk. So they think good driver = good trainer but they don't take the personality of the guy into consideration.

Most good trainers make good drivers, but not the other way around. (Yes, there are exceptions, blah, blah, blah)

Those are not bfld, they are trained and been solo for three months and now have enough qualifications to train others....I don't see a problem with that at all.....think all companies should change to this type of training..
