Well, this will be my last week on the intermodal account... I am switching to the menards flatedbed account.. will get a few more cpm and other pay, safety, securement, and such... i will run 2am to 2pm and be home every night.. it is a slip seat deal.. so, if there is an overnight I get put up in a hotel for the night...

I am excited.. as I really like flatbed.. intermodal kept me running, but not enough physical work in drop and hook.. and live loading and un loading sucked...

Dont really know a lot about the account right now... just what driver placement told me.. will know more once i get out there doing it..

Have a securement class I gotta take.. I guess it is a 1 day class and I get paid $100 for it..

Well, i will keep you posted on things.. and if anyone here knows anythings about the menards account i would appreciate hearing any info..

Are you going to be running out of the Valley, NE DC? I currently drive for them outta the Eau Claire, WI DC but, as a company driver. It should be interesting to hear how it goes for you. Just putting it out there, you will not like having to unload at the stores and having to load and secure their crappy backhaul material. Best of luck to you.

I pulled flatbed back when I first got my CDL and really liked it... even over tne cold blustery winter... cold doesnt bother me much.. I have worked out doors year round doing contruction... I prefer cold weather over hot and humid...
Yeah.. I will be running out of the Valley NE DC.. it is about 40 minutes from my house...

I think it has been hard for me to transition from physical contruction work to sitti g most of the time.. I have been working out in my truck with those bands, dumbells and a stair stepper... but that is just not as rewarding as actual hard work... so I am actually looking forward to getting to tarp and strap...

I am going to ride with another driver for a couple days.. he is gonna show me the ropes.. I start this Wed. At 2am so I have the weekend to get myself on that schedual... although the account manager of the account that I am leaving seems to thi k he can run me till tuesday night... we did have to argue that one out... so as it stands now... I will deliver the load I came home on early Monday morning.. then go turn in my truck.. will be slip seating for this flatbed gig..

I will let you all know how it all goes...
