I live in Murphy, NC. Cherokee county. Closest OTR fleets that I know of are Crete Carrier with a terminal in Lenoir City Tennessee and US Xpress out of Chattanooga Tennessee. With that being said, there are a lot of trucks that go throughout Cleveland Tennessee and I-75. There is no work around the Murphy area that pays more than 8 to 10 an hour. You either have to commute to the factories in Tennessee for a good job or go to Asheville. Hope this helps. I can be more specific if needed... Good luck to you.

If you are planning on staying with Werner look into dedicated accts. (Not the ones that require driving unload unless that's something you want). You can actually make decent money on dedicated accts. 48 state and southeast regional don't pay as well as dedicated for a solo driver. If you search the jobs on the drivers portal punch in zip codes from all around your state and also zip codes from bordering states near you. I found very few options with my zip code but punched a few in 50-75 miles away and there were many more opportunities.

I did meet a driver who was dedicated and hauled auto glass from Tennessee to Michigan. He got home every weekend and said it paid alot better than the other accts.

Not sure if they have the jeld wen acct down there but that is the 1 I am on. Pays pretty well and I get home every weekend (full weekend) and a weeknight every week of 2

Check the driver placement on the website in the drivers portal.. and like already said heck for your zip code and any zip code just around you... if there is a 3M account.. and you have your tanker endorsement that is a great account, all drop and hook tanker.. if you are interested in teaming and have your doubles and hazmat endorsement the ABF account is a good too... those drivers are making good money and are very happy...

Also... keep in mind it doesnt take long to switch accounts. . Keep checking the portal cause there are new accounts in the works..
