Can you tell us what exactly one of your employers may have said to give you such a bad reference? If Werner of all carriers disqualified you be prepared for others to do the same thing.I think waiting almost a month to bring you in to let you go was very wrong on Werners part,i'd be filing for unemployment.Oh an answer to your last question, yes you have to put on your app you was with Werner for 3 weeks.
Friggin Werner....

Get the jump on it... tell your side up front.. that way when they check there are no surprises....
It was 3 years ago... so you have learned and moved on...Moon_beam Thanks this. -
You said you were honest with them both times they asked...
you dont want to give out more Information then what they can get from your past employer... so keep your explanation simple.... so for Example dont say... my former boss was an idiot jerk, a nd we got into it about some paper work... he was being stupid and I told him so... I wanted to punch his dumb ### out but they fired me before I could.. instead find a simple way to explain why you were terminated... -
I don't mean to be rude, but I think there's a lesson to be learned here. I never left on bad terms on ANY job I had, no matter how much they pissed me off. ( except my O/O leasor, but that was different, it was my truck, and I just sent them the plate, and said goodbye) Sounds like the OP is between a rock and a hard spot, like Bren sez, if you don't tell the next job, and they find out, they're screwed, and if they do, there're screwed. Best to leave on good terms, folks.
BrenYoda883 and tucker Thank this. -
I just read post#9 that explains a lot but Werner shouldn't have waited over 3 weeks to let him go.

Management at Werner should be asking why they wasted training resources on somebody they weren't going to keep, instead of fully vetting his app prior to orientation and starting training.
"semi" retired Thanks this. -
If you're in the hiring area, Paschall Truck Lines will probably hire you. It's a good dry van company that runs Eastern half of USA.

You know... when you fill out an application for any company you sign that what you put down is true...
So to blame a company for catching you for putting false or incorrect information on your application is like blaming a tree for making you run into it.... filling out an application should not be so difficult. . Even teenagers applying for their first job are capable of filling out the application. ...
Also, the recruiters are just the first round of screening applicants.... based on the applicants word.. then on the first day of orientation you fill out a full application and sign release of information forms.. they then send those out to you past employers. .. sometimes it takes time for the past employer to respond, so then they send out another request and call...
As drivers we are responsible for only one load at a time... but a recruiter is handling many applicants at a time.. and many of the applicants have a history of job hopping.. so imagine handling 40 applicants who have had 5 jobs each...
However, many if not most applicants have had more than 5 jobs..Last edited: Sep 12, 2014

No, it's more like my dad ticked off the terminal manager at the Denver terminal. We were supposed to team together, so they tagged me on a word. Same basic definition between the two of them. We went to WW Express and they laughed at Werner and took us on.
That was 18 years ago, and Werner did us a favor. West Way ran us hard and we made good money.
