Hey guys I just got assigned a t660 and can't figure out how to get it to idle. I've seen several threads on here suggesting to chock the wheels and stuff, but what I was told from a mechanic at the terminal was set the hand trailer brake twice and turn on the cruise...

I somehow got it to work last night, but today I just can't figure out why it won't work.

Its almost 100 outside, so it should be fine.

If you have the dumb optimized idol thingy flip you shifter to high and turn cruise on once the engine shutdown pops on your dash override it by setting your cruise rpms should bump up jump in sleeper and set the temps on your idle control in sleeper should be good to go thays how works on my truck but its freightliner but hopeing optimized idol works either way

Most are just by setting the cruise. Click once up, another should set the high idle.

in the FL's. the yellow valve has to be out. cruise has to be on. tap the resume/accel button and idle jumps up to 800.

sounds like what the mechanic told you also. and you just simply forgot. :biggrin_255:

A light on the instrument panel shaped like an engine with a wrenching the middle of it will come on about 15 seconds before shutdown , when this light comes on appy the foot brake until light goes out, this works on my 660

In a t660. To idle, u need a trailer or chock the wheel. But basically. Set the trailer brakes and release the tractor brakes. It should idle then.

locate the black or nude colored nipple appearing ambient temp sensors and wrap them with hand warmers (get the 12 hr life ones), use electrical tape to hold it on the sensor, then wrap in a bandana and slide it all in a warm insulated winter glove (i.e ski gloves or similar).

she will idle all night long. but just know you fleet manager can see your idle % and they will nag you about it. cya and send a message saying too cold for the bunk heater to work properly and that you have to idle.

usually one temp sensor on the frame rail chassis on driver side in the back and if theres a second one it will be mounted up inside the front bumper area or to the front crossmember at the bottom.

Why am I losing air in my secondary tank whenever I set my idle control? Everything is fine when there is no key in ignition. I drive I believe it's cascadia
