This is true. Still, I wouldn't run a dollar store account even if it paid $100,000/year. I did a few Target and K-Mart loads a bunch of years back. Similar set-up to unloading, so I've been there, done that, and don't care to do it again.

That being said, I salute you guys (and gals) who do run the dollar accounts and thrive on them. You all have my respect!

    X-Country Thanks this.

unless you have a year or two under your belt, i would advise against it.

most of the stores are very tight backing.

and there are much better accounts anyhow.

Well. I been with werner since june 2012 as a student. I trained on DG in mississippi for 3 months. Finish training and started hauling for FD out of front royal va. We covered an area from pittsburgh to central nj all the way south to middle of NC. It been over two years since I started and I love it. I am now a trainer and I haul doubles for them. I wouldnt leave this account for anything. My FMs look out for me and i look out for them. That builds good relationships with them and helps.u get good runs and keeps u moving and making money.

Yes, DG and FD and now DT ( dollar tree) are hard account and isnt cut for.everyone. but backing isnt hard if you take your time and plan how u gonna and Please get out and look before this happen

Okay.. so now that I have done the DG for a few months now.. it isnt actually as bad as everyone made it sound.. I had a chance to do it with a student and by myself.... i actually preferred by myself.... just put on my head phones and listened to good music..

I didnt find the backing to difficult. .. just had to think things through and watchout for cars and people.. but I actually enjoyed the challenges...

I am switching accounts again however. .. one of the things I like about werner. .. The reason I am switching is I bought a new motorcycle and wanted an account with more hometime so I can ride it... Got a real good discount at Werner Cycle.. another thing I like about driving for werner... last summer they gave me a good deal on new tires for my sporty... as well as an oil change and service..

Since I wont be on the DG account and unloading anymore.. new account is drop n hook.. guess I will have to hit the gym at the terminal..

I made pretty good money on the DG account... but, the deal is.. you need to have hustle to make money.. the lo ger you take to unload the less money you make... and if you want to unload slow they will let you.. but you only hurt your paycheck...

If I go back to being out weekly... I will go back to the DG account. .. but for now the new account has me mostly home daily with an over night or two a week... which is what I want so I can ride...
