So I just got my CDL A all endorsements waiting on Hazmat to go through. Went through a 4 week training school. I have browsed most all the Werner threads on here and I have come to see a common thread. Drop everything and run from Werner and find a different company to start a new career with. Is this a right or wrong assessment from what I am reading?

No no no you misread. It's not run, it's amble, bound, break, canter, dart, dash, drop, escape, fall, flight, gallop, jog, lope, pace, race, rush, scamper, scuttle, spring, sprint, spurt, tear, trot, whisk away from. I'm sorry you misread that, some of these truckers like to joke a lot.
Joking aside, some people have great experience with them, and most don't -
It's what you make of it. If Werner has 10,000 drivers, I bet there are a thousand that are happy there and have been there a long time. The other 9000 would be jumping ship regardless of any company they work for. Can you do better ? Probably. Do you have a crystal ball ? Nooooooooooo. So you need to start somewhere. I know. It would be nice to get on board with the perfect truck company on day 1, but that's highly unlikely. First things first you need to get in the business and actually like it, then worry about different companies to apply to. Good luck.

Over the years the color of the cab has changed, names on the door has changed, but when you put it in the wind, and that stupid grin sneaks up on your faces, thats really what it all about.
You can not count on anyone but yourself in this industry, recruiters, and dispatchers lie, company owners only care when your making them money, and there is always some places somebody thiks youd be happier.
If your happy with yourself, and your happy with your check the rest just does not matter.
Wheres that 8 track of tiger in my tank, time for me and buck to get on down the road... -

Werner is a starter company, they are all alike in one way or another.Pick one and stick with it for a yr.No matter where ya go you're not going to get rich, not even close. You're there to learn and get the exp.Werner has a lot of northeast freight so if you choose OTR plan on being out in the NE alot. They swap loads with other drivers. So at any given time plan on swapping your load at the nearest trkstop and sitting for hrs waiting for your swap to show up.Main 2 reasons for swap is to get drivers home and ontime delivery. You won't get the miles but you will the exp.

I have been with Werner for just over a year now and am one of the happy ones... I make a good pay check every week... and whenever I have encountered any difficulty it was able to be resolved through driver resources, safety, or my fleet managers supervisor. .
I am an avid motorcycle rider and so for my 1 year anniversary I bought myself a new ride... I am also switching to a home daily account so I will have time to ride... that is one of the things I like about werner.. they have so many accounts. . And if you are a good driver.. no accidents, tickets, late loads.. you can always find a good account that suits you..
Werner is not perfect.. no company is... but it is a good starter company.. and for many others, it is more than a starter company.. they have many drivers who have been with werner for years... however, becacuse they also give new drivers a chance and offer training. . There are also a lot of new drivers who do not succeed at werner.. and they are the ones who do most of the posting on line..
Irregardless of what company you start with.. you will be the biggest factor in your success. .
Good luck to you...
