Just passed my cdl test and starting with Warner in a couple weeks,I wand the dollar general dedicated run. Can anyone tell me about this,I've been a warehouse manager for 26years at furniture stores so unloading trucks is not a problem, I actually enjoy physical work!!

What's the benefits of a dedicated? Set schedule week to week? Or do you still run a little wild just to dollar generals around the country?

Dollar General is typically out Mon-Sat home Sat evening (if ur lucky) off all of Sun and back out Mon. The pay can be pretty decent if you are able to keep pace. Rolltainers are used for packing they can be a pain but not too bad. Worst part is loading empty rolltainers and rolltainers filled with cardboard after each stop, can get annoying having to work around them by the time you hit your last store. Loads are usually 30000 - 42000 lbs and each load avg about 3 stops. You are paid mileage, stop pay, and unload pay. Backing in to the stores can be challenging to say the least. Sorry the worst part is the "toppers" boxes they stack on top of the rolltainers, major pain in the butt, not to mention a huge safety risk! They do not take much care on how they stuff them up there, light, heavy doesn't matter. You have to be careful with it. Any other q's I'd be happy to help! Good luck
