Ok, I was believing your story to a point.. But I am finding it hard to believe that you could not talk to anyone at the orientation that would investigate things further before you were kicked to the curb. If it was me, I would be squatting in the reception area waiting to talk to someone, anyone, else.. at least until the cops came for me....

Your comments about DNA have tipped the scales to where I think there are other things going on here.

 

Far as I know he is right, dna can be obtained from blood/hair. It can also be obtained from urine/salavia. I've found Werner to be fairly easy going when it comes to testing/solving issues. Then again you have to approach them like a reasonable human being with some amount of restraint in what you say/do. Yelling and freaking doesn't generally work at any company.

 

Yes sure.. DNA could be obtained from the hair.. my whole point is, that there is something wrong here if that is such a concern.. and especially done by your own attorney ?? .. can you say "Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs ?"

Then let's examine the lost for 3 days part of the story.. Specimen missing for three days, but supposedly marked with wrong SSN , asked to retest and then is asked to leave because of failing the test. He believes it is someone else's, and he is being screwed over... Let's imagine you are the technician who screwed up and wrote the wrong SSN and this test comes up positive for drugs... are you really not going to retest the new sample ? .. Do you really imagine such a scenario ? .. sure the tests cost money, but it is extremely unlikely that there wasn't a retest done with the new sample. This scenario is as "paranoid" as imagining someone is going to do something with your DNA.

There are also more drugs than marijuana that are tested for.. I suppose the "poppy seeds on my muffin" story that I have heard might be plausible.. but since he didn't eat... not likely.

 

I'll just be glad when they use a method to determine "high" or "not high".

Want to get scorned by EVERYONE you speak to. Start asking questions about your medication, and how it will affect a drug test. After 3 days of asking questions, I finally gave up and researched the info on the web. I had a drug screen coming up that I was aware of, and wanted to provide documentation from the Doctor if needed.

I was on a pain killing solution, that provided IMMEDIATE relief. Great stuff None addictive.

Then I was really mad! All I wanted to know, was would my medication cause a positive (false or real) with a drug test. And NONE of the so called professions I talked to would give me the answer. Which by the way, was no, it would not.

I just pi$$es me off to be treated like a common drug addict when I have legitimate concerns about what I stick in my body...BECAUSE we are tested on such a regular/irregular basis.

Luckily for me, I am back were I belong. Once again, I have access to Doctors and Pharmacist that have known me all my life. And they WILL answer my questions without batting an eye.

 

I have not heard for werner treating there students and new drivers like that. I have been with them for 2 years and own trucks that were leased on there and I am a trainer. It is normal for any company not to pay your was through orientation. They will not pay you way home if they send you home, that is you problem. If they did lost your dot treat or put the wrong ssi number there have them do a dna test. That would be the first thing I would say. If yours was positive they that is normal for any company to fired you. You have to realize now that you cdl and you dac is your life now you are a professional and you can not do anything wrong. SO many be you will find luck at JB hunt of swift. they will hire anyone.

 

you really got screwed since you were a recent CDL grad from a school --> most drivers don't drink or do drugs and the ones that do don't last.

You can either challenge their test or not. If you really want to drive challenge it.
