Tattoos, beard, clothing guidelines?

I will be heading to Werner soon and I am curious what their policy is on tattoos? I have tattoos down both arms, one is a big one of a skeleton ripping out of my arm and I have another of death floating in front of the american flag merged with the rebel flag, holding a noose. A few other tattoos on my arms too. Are these going to be a problem? I won't have to cover them will I?

Also, what is their policy on beards? I have a goatee I like to keep long and I can't stand the way my face feels clean shaven, itches like hell. Will this be a problem?

Do I need to be shirt tucked in and pressed pants or will T Shirt and dickies work?

Also, out of curiosity, anyone know what kind of tractor a newbie will likely be issued? If I am issued a tractor that is...

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Why not just call them and ask?

Werner, I strongly believes has no problems with tatoos, beards and/or t-shirts. I wear a t-shirt almost every day. I am team z 48 states and have to stay out 5 weeks before I am qualify for home time. Trust me, some days I look horible. Along as you do not have anything offensive you should be fine. If you see another Werner driver at a customer with flip flops, do not think that is OK. Please try to avoid the flip flops. Customers do take notice. Tatoos and beards are almost a standard look on many truck drivers.

Good luck.

LOL.

You are right about the recruiters. I'd forgo the t-shirt in favor of some sort of shirt with a collar. I doubt the beard or tattoos will be much of an issue.

A buddy of mine was pre-hired by them a couple of months back. He went to the 1st day of orientation and said it was a complete cluster ######.

I too was pre-hired by them but opted to not pursue OTR at this time.

I wish you luck with Werner. Hopefully others will be able to more directly answer your questions.

No flip flops. I prefer hiking boots. Hard enough soul that you arent burning your feet out on the pedals and light enough that you arent walkin bricks around.

I will be Midwest regional. So I don't expect to be out 5 weeks. From what I was told, 6 days out, 1 day home. Not holding my breath on that though.

What would qualify as offensive. The skeleton on my arm is ripping out of the skin and has blood and such all over him. Pretty big too. Covers my entire inner forearm from the bend to the wrist. And Im a big sumbitch, so its pretty large. Guess I will see how it rolls.

What kind of tractor should I look forward to?

Probably a pale horse.

(Sorry... couldn't resist.)

Have a good friend currently at Werner. I just tried to call, but he may be driving and won't answer. He seems to be happy so far with his decision to go with Werner.

Wish you the best of luck there, bro.

Well from what Ive seen at the terminals lately they dont care about any of that officially. Unofficially, us guys prefer that the girls shave thier beards however from what Ive seen that is optional from a company side standpoint.
