Lately I've been seeing solo copper loads out here. When I hauled copper I had to run with someone. The guy I was suppose to meet was made to wait on me. He was told if he ran solo he woulda been fired. Bull or no? I find it funny that while we were made to run with each other I'm seeing solo copper loads out here...

i've never had copper loads that were team. but i could see the reasoning. with all the thefts going on.

a team load would keep that copper moving while a solo would have to sit 10 hours.

i actually parked 2 blocks from receiver with a load of roofing shingles. napped 3 hours till they opened. and when i delivered. 2 packs were gone.

Its the same as tarping copper. Its not a tarped load, but some companies require their drivers to to prevent thefy.

Every time I've ran one of those they hooked me up with another truck also taking a copper load to Norwich and we ran convoy. The exception is trainers and guys that have passenges.

Company I picked up from recommended tarping but didn't require, how it should be anywhere. I'd rather have the choice to tarp or no tarp commodities that don't really need to be protected from the elements. And yes, I did tarp the copper. Don't really want any legal issues if that stuff goes missing, however, a cargo thief that knows what to look for can spot a tarped copper load. I can point out tarped copper load a mile away.

I meant trucking companies not shippers. Like melton makes us tarp, but the mine doesn't. I usually don't cuz from morenci az I can make it to our yard in el paso, then I can make it to the receiver in McKinney where I usually go

i've ran into dozens of trucks. but never had any going the same place.

company doesn't say tarp but the broker stresses it enough.

needless to say. it don't get tarped. because your not allowed on the trailers. and the closes place to park is basically half way to delivery anyways.,

i didn't get paid to tarp. so i tarped as little as possible. i got paid to drive. and tarping just took away from my drive and nap time.

now a days. my tarps sit in the garage at home.

Western makes us tarp copper loads for security but we do get tarp pay.
