so here is my question
Where dose the pay rate start?
How often do you or can you expect to be home?
And to they offer a course for a new none cdla?
is it expected of you to run fb and van?
Thanks for you're time
whats the real deal

.75cpm is a flat out li unless thats a lease/ o/o rate. if it is, that a poor rate for o/o, but thats way to high for company driver.
Truckergirl0720 Thanks this. -

its a short mile rate they have, if the load is less then a 100 miles from origin to destination then you make 75cpm otherwise all miles are by my guess their usual 32 to 34 cpm

Here's another thread that looks like the same thing.
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...someone-western-express-offered-me-75cpm.htmlblairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Website shows "earn up to .75 cpm, but average .42 cpm for flatbed division and .38 cpm average for van division."
Must be some special bonus program, fuel bonus, special loads, stop pay, tarp pay etc. added in to add up to .75 cpm.
No training for non-CDL holders.
Weekly hometime is based on regional or dedicated accounts, not OTR.
Call and ask. Check the website : westernexp
Looks like the refresher is free; 2 days orientation then 2 - 3 weeks with a trainer.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I just went to Denver Craigslist (I figured I'd find it there) and sure enough, a Western Express ad, showing "Up to 75 cpm".
The key words are "Up to". This can mean you can get paid 10 cpm, and they still "wouldn't be lying".
You will NEVER see 75 cpm pay. You may not even see the 38 cpm (van) and 42 cpm (flatbed) pay they list.
This is only a small example of their "integrity". Stay away... stay far away from W Express.
Excerpt from actual Ad:
FLATBED
A generous sign-on bonus is just the beginning. You'll also earn up to 75 CPM! On average, our flatbed OTR drivers pull in $1,100 to $1,200 every week, with a 42 CPM or more.
VAN
EARN UP TO 75 CPM!
If you prefer to drive a van, you can still earn up to 75 CPM! On average, our solo/OTR drivers get $1,000 to $1,100 every week, with a 38 CPM.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
If something sounds too good to be true, it is. Run.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Sound like what i taught.
If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it must be duck....
I could live with .32cpm. As long as three miles are there, after all if you're wheels ain't turning you ain't earning....
Just need to find a better paying rideblairandgretchen Thanks this. -
The 30yr veteran driver for Western I spoke with last night, has been there 3 yrs and is making 32 cpm. I am still shaking my head side-to-side on that thought.
KW Cajun, the ghost and blairandgretchen Thank this.
