I've applied to and was accepted by Western Express. Although I won't be going to orientation for awhile, I'm in the process of evaluating my options with different companies and all the negativity in posts from W.E. drivers' has me concerned. Also the extremely high CSA % is concerning. Are W.E. drivers really so unhappy and reckless?
Why Do Western Express Driver's posts always so negative?

Tell us exactly why you chose them? What's on your MVR? How long have you been outside a truck?
-
If they're so unhappy and negative, why don't they change jobs? Slavery was abolished over 150 years ago which means they're working there voluntarily.
Swamprat55 and newbietrucker007 Thank this. -
I'm here at orientation right now: I'll reserve my opinion until I have a ton of info to share though...... I'll say this.... If the OP has a clean record .... I can't see his reasoning
Chinatown Thanks this. -

I'm not knocking Western Express at all, but you can make more money in tankers. Don't know what may be available in RI though. Western is headquarted in Nashville; I was born and raised in that area.
Read today that Trimac is hiring from approved CDL schools. No terminals in RI though.Swamprat55 Thanks this. -
I have an idea about this. I came upon videos on YouTube from a "driver" with Western Express. It may not be the company is so bad, but the hiring practices have much to be desired. Paying attention to detail and doing your job shouldn't be a giant issue, where it seems for some it is. They raise their standards, you won't see the complaints. Think about an "experienced driver" going to a Western Express. I rest my case.

They're hungry for drivers.
I posted here on behalf of my brother in law when they were demanding he drive with a broken shock absorber, among many other OOS faults.
They're a last chance or a starter company. Things won't change until they lift their game.
If you have other options please pursue.
And not CRST or CR England.Swamprat55, superpet39 and DriveItUSA Thank this. -
this post that I made in another thread is what scared me off from going with Western Express. Dishonesty right out of the gate. Their ad states, 35-38 cents per mile for recent graduates.
what I was told in an email by their recruiter Taylor Shelton, is a completely different thing

seemed like a no brainer to avoid them.Swamprat55 and blairandgretchen Thank this.
