Alright folks so I'm about to start orientation at the end of the month. I am going to start in flat bed at 33 cpm.I don't consider that being to bad due to the fact that I have no flatbed experience. If anyone has any info for me as in what to bring, what to expect or anything else, please feel free to share. Thanks.

Yea I firmly believe that a job is anything that you will make of it. I don't buy into all the trash talk most people do about the company and am prepared to make it work for me in the best way. I am going to Nashville Tn. Out of Colorado.

    Sleeping bag & pillow
    Steel toed boots
Work gloves (I usually get a package of cheap ones at Walmart, Lowes, etc.)
Cheap set of coveralls - to use while tarping, securing the load, so you don't get your driving clothes dirty.

I shared the above attitude myself. But I can assure you that what you call "trash talk" is in fact 90-95% truth.......... Good luck and make sure you ask lots of questions in your 4 day load securement class.

Coveralls and gloves are the main things,as you WILL get dirty tarping and securing. Pay close attention to the securement phase and don't be afraid to ask questions. I liked flatbedding when I did it,but I had a really good trainer/mentor who walked me through securing the big cell phone tower poles we hauled. When you get on your own you may want to get a 5' step ladder for getting on and off the trailer, because crawling up and down off of it gets old fast......;-)
