i've seen a lot of dummy truck drivers in my 40 years but i have got to say western express has got em all.sure there might be a few decent guys .i used to work out of Lowes in Plainfield ct. and saw some real dummies and slobs.in the welcome center they had to put airfeshner out in thr checkin window for some of those western drivers.just my opinion

Was on 95 south in New York, about one mile before GW bridge following Western Express when for no reason the moron stopped in the middle of the road, cars locking up brakes horns screaming, and the driver gets out of the truck and changes places with the passenger!! You cant be that stupid, at least I did not think so until I witnessed that show.

All though I personally wouldn't want to work for them, they very well might. I'd give them a call and inquire about the refresher program they're offering. They'll send you out with a trainer for (I think) 8 weeks. It'll get your foot back in the door industry wise. Also,my condolences on losing your wife, and I hope everything works out for you.

i work for western now and have been routed anywhere but home. and now i look at my check stub and am pulling a wonderful .11 cents a mile this companny is a joke. i did flat bed because i was told its more money well i can make more money working at a fast food place than i do now. i have other offers but cant find out where is a acceptable place to drop my truck to not get a abandoned truck on my dac. any help with this would be nice. to anyone looking at western i would stay clear if you have a family you want to see. people are rude and inconsiderate, the dm's are all from 18 to around 25 for the most part and have never been in a truck but know how to do every thing and are more than willing to correct you the driver, they are like a child with to much power the whole companny is bull.

Easjam, if you are interested give BTC a call. Since BTC is in Memphis (where you would do orientation and get a truck), it would be relatively easy to dump Western Express' rig in Nashville and hitch a greydog to Memphis. Just let the recruiting dept. know the situation so they can work with you. I guarantee you will make more that .11 per mile (first year drivers start at .48/mi or 27% of freight revenue). That way, you won't have to worry overmuch about an abandonment on you DAC and you get into a much, much better company to work for.

It appears his attempt to answer questions was met by a wave of scorn for the company and he left; he hasn't said anything from June 5, 2014. I wish people would just read the original post again; if you're a super trucker making $250,000 a year driving your Super Longnose whenever and wherever you want and don't like companies like Western, great. Take your scorn and venom elsewhere. Not everyone sits at the pinnacle of Skill And Ability Mountain with you. Some folks have questions because they might be pondering their first job or are trying to right a wrong in their past. Getting answers from someone who probably had them - don't we all wish we could choke a recruiter or two? - might be critical to their decision making.

I must agree with some of this..If you are a high school drop out, criminal or durg addict and have no prospects of gainful employment,do not blame the one who is taking advantage you..Lets face it,most people DON'T end up on WE doorsteps by mistake, they end up there after a life filled with mistake after mistake:biggrin_25511::biggrin_25526::biggrin_25523:

a labor revolt? That worked well in Greece. They are loving their 30% unemployment and riots.

Go and learn about capitalism before talking about "labor revolts".
