Oh. Yeah, I will admit we are looking for long term drivers. But at this point, recruiting would probably be happy to talk to you even if you are only planning on driving for another two years or so. How in the heck did you get your license suspended?

It's a long, unpleasant story involving an angry business owner who saw deep pockets, a Wyoming deputy sheriff who "had to do something," and a very stupid truck driver who believed the deputy by paying the Wyoming fine, not understanding what Michigan would do.

    Never again.

Thanks, Rex. I have to. Besides taking a lot of my money and suspending my CDL for a year, Michigan put 6 points on my driving record. One more and they suspend my driving privileges, not just my CDL privileges, so you know I'm going to be cautious and über-law abiding!

Orientation, Day 1, is in the bag. This was a short day...the normal stressful medical exam and lots of paperwork, but no lectures. Tomorrow promises to be a very long day, 12 hours beginning at 7:30 a.m. But first, pizza, the company-provided lunch, since they provide 3 meals a day and I'm a broke trucker.

Danalidad,,,,brother congrats to you Comrade... I wish you all the best for sure and look forward to hearing all your stories regarding you new career in Flat-Bedding at the young age of 65! You rock sir, and if you think Hell Week isn't that bad then this will be nothing for you, even at 65. I am doing it with a bad back, bad shoulder, bad joints yada yada yada but, I love it and will never pull another trailer besides this one. God Bless

That's the kind of experience I'm hoping for! Well, not the bad back, shoulder, and joins, but the other part.

As is and will always be the case, the new group of prehires lost at least two during the initial physical phase. One guy had a blood sugar much too high and another one had a problem I didn't understand when he told me. Basically, according to him, for that test, his measurement was "10" but the maximum result was "9.9." So, home they go. They can come back on a month after getting their numbers in line.

There is a benefit to watching diet and exercise, especially when one is in or wants to be in a career that requires adhering to established medical standards.
