Day 2 is about to begin. We will be outside most of it undoing and redoing the practice loads they have.
Did I mention that the weather has been perfect all week? Until today, that is. Now, it will rain for the rest of the 'outside' activities. Fun!
My new, final resting place

I just saw that you have started a new thread about your new venture. I am glad you are back out there. Just take it a day at a time. I am liking my new gig and have to make that work or I will pull the plug on trucking for good. Just got back from a quick round trip to Homer.
DenaliDad Thanks this. -
yeah, I was there last week. like someone else posted, I had a hangup with Adam's God complex

Long day of waiting in the sun. There are too many students and not enough practice devices. And if didn't rain like it was supposed to.
We aren't done yet.SheepDog Thanks this. -

The end of Load Securement Day 2 came in a very appropriate manner.
I was on the way home with a lot of other Western new hires on a very crowded company bus. The ride takes about 15 minutes or so and is normally quiet and boring. Not today; we were about 3 miles down the road when all of a sudden, there was a loud commotion and shouts from the back, "Driver! HEY, driver!"
It turns out that someone on the bus with luggage didn't close the back door and his seabag was now on the right side of the road well behind the bus...being picked up by another company van, fortunately!
This just proves that flatbedders really know nothing about closing doors and should not be trusted with securing a door of any kind!Last edited: Mar 25, 2015
