I am going to orientation next week, so far from what i have read on here it seems to be a good company (western express). I am going flatbed division. Only thing I didnt ask and wasnt told about is the pay. I hope they pay mileage pay, and not percentage. Percentage is caca, but for now will have to do. Hopefully will be with this company quite a while. Out of all the companies I have read about on here Western Express seems to have the least negative statements. From what i can tell anyway. So I think I have in essence made a good choice.

Pay is by miles delivered, not empty. They say empty but you dont. .30 cpm.

You can expect to be on the truck for 2 months of training. Unless you have prior trucking experience. You can also forget about home time during training. And you will miss it. You can also expect shady deals of if you want 2 days off and you have been out for almost 2 weeks yet they send you home early. Its your fault you went home early, even tho they couldnt find you loads when sending you home. Oh by the way, they want you back on the road in 34 and your stealing company equipment if you dont return to work immediately! This kind of BS.

To the one who was asking about good points and bad points about Western Express. I know your always going to get all kinds of info, some good and some bad! It all depends on who you speek to. I worked for Western Express for 15 months. The only reason I'm leaving is for more money, and more home time. When I worked for Western I did get home every weeked. Some times for 34 hrs, sometimes for 2 full days. It all depends on the load your under. My pay did get messed up a few times but when I called payroll they were quick to jump on it! As far as the person talking about getting charged for all different mishaps, I don't know anything about that! I was never charged for anything!! When ever I broke down they would recover me and put me up in a hotel until my truck was ready to go.( that is if it was only for a day or two) any longer tan that they wouldhave another driver recover me and taem me up with that person so I could get back to Nashville and jump into another truck. All companies will have good and bad about them, I have only had good with Western. I guess I'm just lucky- I don't know!!!!Maybe it's because I really had a great DM, mine really took good care of me!!!!! Best one I ever had!!! Tell your husband to request Christine Goodman, thats who I had .If you want more info, feel free to write and ask will try to help as much as I can. Take care and tell your husband to be careful out there.
