Espressolane is pretty much right on the money about everything. I don't really complain too much because i'm able to make decent money. jtrnr, tell your friend to keep calling them. that is the only way he will get hired. you gotta harass the recruiting dept.

i'm preapproved, and everytime I call they try to get me in by Monday.
Kind of sounds like Arrow, I have a friend from Arrow that went there, and he averages 3,000 per week mostly out west ,and has no complaints.

The best thing anyone can offer you is to think long and hard about going to Western Express.

Orientation lasts two or three days, I forget how long, but know that it's too long. If you've had orientation at any other company, then you know the drill....Sit around, go over paperwork, physical, whiz quiz, more paperwork, safety, hazmat, more paperwork, etc.

What road test? lol. Seriously... You pull a trailer out of a parking spot, do a lap around the shop, and put it back where you found it. :)

One thing drivers forget when giving that advice of finding a DOT cop or pulling into the scales and asking for an inspection or pointing out something unsafe on the truck is the one little box close to the top of the inspection form that says "check if asked for an inspection" or walk up. It's something like that. Diesel Bear what does it say if you see this?

That box will get your arse in a bind and possibly fired down the road. Do your pre trip inspection and fill out the forms with the problems and sign and hope to get inspected. BUT turn in your copies to the company with every trip and make a copy for yourself!
