today i drover an older Roadway truck. It was orange with the blue hood. Its a highway unit and had a ton of balls and i felt this governed. I only got it to 50mph with all the traffic around the Bronx and all. When I find out ill let you know. I also had a straight truck which didnt seem to have a pair and could barely pull its weight
Any other Reddaway drivers?

From what I remember, the 08 sterlings have a great low pulling power but once you need top end then they got no balls to it. The older trucks have the top end power.

I like Reddaway. Pay could be better but at least we still have really good benefits and they are paid for by the company. Probably makes up for the pay cut we took, come to think of it. So in reality we are paying for our benefits. In my yard they start at 40 cpm and I know other companies are starting at 45 cpm or more. We aren't union either. Then again if you really think about it, you can go solo otr and not make 40 cpm to start and still have to pay for all your benefits. The only way you can make money otr anymore is running team. Well where I live anyway. I'd say LTL is the way to go no matter what company you go with. I have to say that I hear the most complaining from Conway drivers. UPS and FedEx Freight drivers are mixed, some hate it and others tolerate them. Estes, ODFL, Saia, ABF I don't hear many complaints at all. The main complaint I hear from YRC is they don't know if the company is gonna be around much longer and that they got the shaft with their pension and pay cut. A lot of other LTL drivers make fun of me for working here. They say I'll be working for one of the other companies sooner or later. Seems like YRC is making a come back or maybe it is just because it's the busy season. I hope for all of us under the YRC umbrella that they are making a come back.

YRC isnt going anywhere so there's nothing to worry about
-
I'm pretty sure you're right about YRC not going anywhere. I just hope I don't go anywhere come December when it slows down.

We didnt go under last year when we were having more problems and now we are doing better so I highly doubt it. Thats what other companys want. FedEx and CWF tried putting out of business but ended up hurting themselves
-
It's always good when you hear those two hurting themselves. LOL
