In the words is Squonk "eating popcorn" at 135

if you run teams then you'll be out all week. At my terminal I've been here a month and never had a lay over. We do a lot of turns

Really? That's odd. Here, the old timers hoard the 'turns'. I usually get a 'layover' or a 'thru'. I also normally put a late-night call time on my T-Card. Our turns are done by 2200. Hey ACH, on your T-Card, you can write down 'Longlay' instead of 'open'. That way they can only call you for layover runs. Make sure to ask dispatch if they will have any though; otherwise, you will sit for days. Also, they never have popcorn @ 135 when I get there.:(

I guess I'm lucky don't have to hook my set together. Only have to break em when I get back from my layover. When I get a set of pups it's an easy day but that's rare. I worked at FedEx Ground for 2 yrs. I liked running team but the pay was way too low. Probably make as much money here solo. Good to here your busy and SoCal is going. You'll probably get a bid soon. We've been busy here getting ready for busy season. I've been covering a bid so it's been good but I would of stayed busy on the extra board. Might be back on the extra board when bids come up though. Heard you guys are getting 75 trucks. Think we are only gonna get a couple. Even though we are getting trucks ill probably get an older one anyways.

I have a real good friend that works for Holland outta St. Louis. He usually gets called from the extra board on either Sunday or Monday night. After he leaves his home terminal he is usually gone the entire week. I hope you like running because those boys at Holland will burn up 70 hours each and every week. Holland does not run teams. Also, there is a Holland driver that makes a book with directions to any and all terminals that you will go to. From what my buddy tells me the driver only charges a couple bucks for them and he said its the best money he ever spent. My wife and I were both born and raised in Atlanta. We are both Grady babies. Not sure if you know what that means. Lol

New bids at 309 are on hold until they figure out what's gonna happen with the change of operation. I wish they would hurry up. My partner and I really wanna different run.

Just been a rough couple of weeks. I'm making some killer money though. Just not used to working this hard at Reddaway. I'm just whining, I like my job. Not like I have to load and unload trailers too. I have it pretty good.

    ACH1130 Thanks this.

Pffft! Runnin a forklift ain't work. Try throwing boxes on a conveyor belt. lol Me & a buddy of mine started @ FedEx Express at the same time & went there for the same reason (to get our CDLs). Once we both got our mandatory 1 year in, he went to Conway, I went to YRC Freight. He doesn't get to run alot yet (works the dock mostly), but, he likes it there. I used to operate a forklift many years ago at a scrap yard & loved it. It was fun. lol
