I run on a sleeper team bid from the Chicago terminal. My partner and I leave one week and we go to Phoenix, Az d-h then come back to Chicago d-h there and then go to Salt Lake City, Ut. d-h there and return to Chicago for 48-52 hrs. off. The next week we leave Chicago and go to Tracy, Ca d-h there and return to Chicago for once again 48-52 hrs off. One week we do close to 6500 miles and the next week we do close to 4500. Sometimes we stop at other terminals along the way to drop off or pick up other freight but not always. We are paid .27 cpm for every mile that is put on the truck and every time we stop for fuel or breakdown or stop at another terminal we are then paid by the hour at the rate of $20.70 an hour. This year I am on target to make just over $100,000. Not to bad for a truck driver I don't think.

The starting wage for road drivers is $.41 c.p.m.
It takes 3 years to reach full wage scale which right now is
hourly workers $ $20.6975
road drivers $.52.7 c.p.m.
It is also important to remember as a road driver that anything you do outside of driving is paid by the hour and will rack up pretty quickly by the end of the week.airforcetoo Thanks this. -
I hope I've answered most of your questions from my posts. It is also important to remember that YRC pays all of your health, dental, Eye, and prescription which is a pretty healthy chunk of change if you ask me. I also want to make sure everyone here knows that all companies excluding Redaway employees are members of the Teamsters Union. Your monthly dues are 2.5 times your hourly wage and is the best money I spend all month. Make no mistake about guys, YRC does not offer us this wage and benefits out of the kindness of there hearts. It has taken generations of men and women fighting for the things we enjoy while working here. I'lldo my best to come around here more often just get kinda wrapped up in work and family sometimes and I forget about this place. Sorry for that and thanks to ACH for keeping this board alive.
