Pocono trucking layoffs ship new jobs to N.Y. site

MAYBROOK, N.Y. — A New York town will get 150 new jobs as a result of layoffs at a Pocono trucking plant.
Roadway Express will be cutting 309 jobs from its Tannersville operation in March, and will move about 150 of those jobs to Yellow Transportation in Maybrook, according to a notification parent company YRC made to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. Maybrook is about 80 miles from Tannersville just off Interstate 84 near Middletown.

the other Stroudsburg guys will have 5 year seniority rights to transfer or work out of Lancaster - or any other first available sites.

all in all - pretty good chance of them gaining work at another breakbulk in the next year.
