If the carrier doesn't follow the instructions to a Tee! It's fines, and withholding money from the agreed rate. But when Cardinal drops the ball, it's to be overlooked, and we're sorry.. Those fines should work both ways. It's about professionalism, right?

Former Employee - Feb 2, 2024

I was a former driver of Cardinal Logistics and for my time of employment there they have extremely bad and unprofessional management. Megan is the account manager of the PECO account in Richmond. She is very unprofessional and she likes to micro-manage her drivers. She doesn't care about her drivers. She is very disrespectful toward her employees. I would never recommend anyone to drive for this company. They have a high over turn rate. The reason being of bad management. Lastly, I would not be wasting my time if it wasn't true. When you are searching for a trucking job bypass Cardinal Logistics.

I worked for over 10 years called in twice for issues I saw a doctor for, 1.3 million safe miles. I brought up the fact they weren’t paying us for the first hour of getting loaded and that it was illegal. Roughly $30,000 they shorted me. Well that was a red flag to them. Amazingly my boss and her Boss started writing me up for the most petty things , while others No called no showed, damaged equipment, serious safety violations, and they still are employed. It use to be a great company. Upper management is an alcoholic culture, with no concern for drivers. This company does not appreciate their drivers anymore as they post pictures getting drunk on the company dime on social media . Human Resources is a joke. It’ll take 3 days for them to get back to you, and if your grievance is about pay or a manager’s actions. You will be terminated. Do not work for these ppl!! They are all trying to make a name for themselves as they bleed the company dry with their partying. Sad to see it happen, but toxic alcoholics have destroyed what once was a good company.

Cardinal Logistics/Greatwide

Q: Does anyone have any information on Cardinal logistics/Greatwide out of Southaven MS?

Q: Did you find anything out? My brother lives in Southaven and is with Schnieder. They spoiled him with an automatic and he is wondering if Cardinal has them?

A: Yes they have all new tractors all automatic, they still have a couple of sticks 10 speeds that he might have to drive from time to time

I have a friend who's been running team for them for about the last 2 plus years on a dedicated route. Seems okay. I think he makes about a grand +(-) a week gross.

Any TRUE lease purchase programs?

Cardinal Logistics - good reputation and several drivers I used to work with went with Cardinal and are successful.
Cardinal is a 100% Dedicated fleet with regional and local runs. We are seeking Company Drivers, Owner Operators and Settlement Carriers across our nationwide network of operation centers.

Cardinal/Greatwide makes it easier than most other company to become an owner operator, with access to services provided by third-party industry leaders.

Transportation-industry financial partners that can help you buy/lease a tractor You’ll get the best rates and terms available based on the year and type of tractor you choose Convenient, weekly settlement deductions available Third-party business services available for industry leaders

I drove for Cardinal/Greatwide as a company driver and it was a very good experience. The reason I left is for a tanker company. Cardinal/Greatwide didn't have any tanker divisions, but do have reefers, van, flatbed.

Cardinal "regional" position?

Cardinal "regional" position?

Q: Hi, does anyone have info on their "Regional" positions? Recruiter told me home 2 to 3 times during week and home weekends. Does that sound right? Thanks

A: That's the way it worked when I worked there on a grocery account. Some were home every day, some ran regional and did a couple of layovers each week. I was gone all week or longer because was on the backhaul part of it.
A couple of accounts around the Atlanta area, they haul a load out, then bring a backhaul on return or return deadhead.

I spent 5+ years with Cardinal on numerous accounts as accompany driver and O/O and will say as a company they were fine to work for, and depending on the account you are on you tend to work independently, meaning you hardly see any other drivers let alone your manager. Cardinals dispatch is decentralized and broken into cost centers run by a manager and that is the person who causes you to love or hate your time at Cardinal. They are a tough company to get cleared to hire by but once you are hired they do everything they can to keep you. Unfortunately, I had to leave them earlier this year for family reasons but have recently been in contact with them about returning and working on the Greatwide O/O side of the company.

I was with cardinal logistics out of so cal. I was on two dedicated wal mart accounts. I was there about 7 years. Very good pay. Equipment was ok. Same cost center manager for both accounts the only reason I left is he retired.

I know some drivers in the refrigerated division at a grocery warehouse account and they like it and make good money.

I think it will depend what account you are on. A close friend was an O/O for Cardinal pulling a flatbed with Moffitt for home depot deliveries and was very happy with them. Only reason he left was he moved out of state and they did not have openings where he moved to.
