Lazy fat supervisor, anything that goes wrong is always someone else's fault. Talking to anyone that contracts Lazer Spot gets you written up for "throwing manager under the bus" even if his name didn't come up in conversation. Yard hosslers having to cover for managers mistakes in scheduling.

If you need money they do pay better than wal mart and you can text a good bit of your shift . Their safety and equipment is atrocious. Don't take their work shoe deal if you not there 6 months they cut it out of last check. And most don't last that long

Pros

Shift I liked .

Cons

Unsafe equipment no maintenance. Lead safety man worthless . Told to do mvir pre and post before shift inside office and all items ok .5th wheel locking was held by prayers 6 inches of slack. Told would train total time 6 minutes. Bumped trailer reported to safety man was told to say nothing to trailer owner or anyone it was ok . Was terminated 2 days later for safety but no damage reported Birmingham is a racist location with morons for management and unsafe equipment. Safety man sleeps or tal

If I didn’t have to rate a star it wouldn’t be on there. I just resigned from the Jacksonville branch. What people say is true and I’ll add to it. DO NOT apply for this company. RUN.

Your home but you might as well not be. 12 hr shifts, constantly being called in to cover other drivers who no show no call. Been here 2 yrs and we'll maybe it's time for a change

Pros

Paid overtime, and the customer is good.

Cons

60 plus hrs a week, maintenance is done by contract and nothing gets fixed. Manager is basically non existing, he doesn't care and is riding out the days till retirement

Don't want to pay overtime unless you are one of their favorites. Don't want a hard worker to have overtime

Pros

Job is close to home

Cons

Don't want people with only this income in their house hold to have overtime

Lazer Spot

Its not over the road we mostly do yard management IE trailer spoting and also some trailer shuttleing localy. Its a good company to work for if you ever get tired of the open road and want to be home every night.

Lazer Spot

Be careful with what you get into with this company. Being a truck driver and a yard dog are two totally different worlds!

Currently I make $15/hr + OT after 40 and every bit of that is earned! It's bad enough you get 10 + moves over the radio while trying to complete the first 3 moves inbound/outbound gave you. Then on top of the next 10 moves you might get 4 more to boot! Also forget about ignoring the radio, the warehouse will just send a team out to flag you down and hand you yet a new list of 5 + moves. Before you know it, you will fall behind and to make it worse. . . the warehouse may have you deliver messages to drivers that their load is ready. Oh, yeah and if you need to fill a spot with an empty trailer you will have to find it all the while getting more moves over the radio.

It's very annoying work and allot of pressure to move trailers. The warehouse makes those truckers sit for 5, 10, 15 hours + but don't even think about making the warehouse wait to have a trailer moved. Then we also run out of space for the trailers, oh, well. . . then we start parking them in the parking lot meant for CARS! It's a blast trying to negotiate around those aisles and planters.

Lazer Spot itself is not bad it's the clients! My site needs two driver for both shifts or you'll get nothing done.
