Travis Honaker, a resident of Missouri and former salesman with Prime Inc.’s leasing company has been sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay $945,000 in restitution for charges including wire fraud and money laundering.
Honaker’s job was to sell used trucks and equipment to buyers after they have been leased using Prime’s affiliate leasing program. Prime was apparently unaware of Honaker’s illegal business habits until 2011 when they discovered that he wasn’t reporting payments for APUs that he sold.
According to the allegations brought against him, Honaker would often charge clients fees for finding, inspecting, or holding trucks for them. Depending on the value, Honaker would receive as much as $1,000 per truck. The fees were never supposed to be charged, so he never reported them to Prime and instead deposited them into a shell company he set up, T&H Consulting, LLC.
The deposits were then sent to his personal bank account and he used the money for expensive vehicles, to pay for his wife’s gambling expenses, and to pay for his living expenses and home.

Prime is just upset because they didn’t think of this way to steal moy money on their “fleece purchase”.
Deborah L says
Wow a good racket he had going there. Glad they found out about it, truckers pay enough for what they buy without the added deal of being gouged by a crook.

I guess RL is the only one who can steal from people.

Fleece, fleece, fleece… all lease purchase companies do is… fleece!
Joe Skeptical says
Travis Honaker took his inspiration from trucking companies, and Prime turned Honaker in because Honaker didn’t include them in the scam.

Feel sorry for all the people who fall for Prime. Every time I pass a Prime truck going 60 MPH or slower. I know its the only way those poor drivers can make a buck or two. Yep, this guy deserves everything he gets in penalties. Prime is a prime example of what to avoid in trucking.
Dennis Shulaw says
Well, all I can say is he more that got the training on how todo what he did from ALL LEASEING COMPANIES.

Prime is stealing from drivers on so many levels. One issue us the leasing contracts and miscellaneous deducations when drivers only have enough money to last to the check. Which means not paying bills at home. I know two families in forclosure because of “all work and no PAY”
