What we offer

  • 1st Shift Hours 6AM-2:30PMMonday - Friday + Saturdays as needed$26.25/hour, OT after 40 hoursLocal/Home Everyday - Shuttling up to 150 miles daily from Ankeny throughout Des Moines and Altoona.53' ft Day Cab/Dry Vans & Flat Beds
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Operate a commercial tractor-trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
    • Shuttle trailers between designated locations, including warehouses, plants, distribution centers, or customer sites.
    • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment integrity.
    • Hook and unhook trailers; move trailers in yards as required (yard jockey duties may be included).
    • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, and supervisors regarding delays, equipment issues, or route changes.
    • Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, bills of lading, and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
    • Ensure secure and proper handling of all freight; verify trailer placement and seal integrity.
    • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirements, speed limits, and safe backing procedures.
    • Report vehicle defects, safety concerns, or incidents immediately.
    • Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner.



Requirements

  • Class A CDL
  • No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
  • No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
  • 3 months verifiable tractor trailer experience OR Recent Trucking School Certification
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report issues.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
