Equipment & Job Duties

Hopper trailers haul dry bulk commodities and are loaded from the top and unloaded through gravity-fed hopper doors on the bottom of the trailer.

Drivers will:

  • Open and close trailer tarps
  • Climb ladders safely
  • Operate hopper doors and trailer vibrators
  • Occasionally sweep trailers clean using a shop broom
  • Work outdoors in heat, rain, humidity, dust, and other conditions

Drivers can expect to get dusty and sweaty at times. This is an active, physical position that requires a strong work ethic and willingness to work hands-on with the equipment.

Trailer capacities range from 1,600–2,200 cubic feet.
