CDL Truck Driver - Auto Hauler

Barrett Trucking LLC, a reputable and growing logistics company, is seeking to develop a roster of skilled and reliable part-time truck drivers. We are currently looking to hire drivers who can handle long trailers, for no-touch car hauling. If you are an experienced driver based in Los Angeles or Dallas, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis.



What we offer

As a part-time driver with Barrett Trucking LLC, you will be responsible for supporting our operations during the absence of our full-time drivers. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our trucking operations run smoothly and efficiently. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate long trailers (7 car) for no-touch car hauling between Los Angeles, CA and Dallas, TX. (1500 miles)
  • Complete trips averaging around 20 hours, typically taking about 2 days if driving solo.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism at all times.
  • Be available for part-time work and on-call assignments, providing your availability to fill in when our full-time drivers are off duty.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 21+ years of age.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to operate a manual 10 speed
  • Successful completion of DOT screening process, including physical, pre-hire test and drug test.
  • Safety-first mindset.
  • Hands on experience with digital equipment (smart phone, ELD, GPS) and carrier apps.
This job requires the ability to:
  • Safely climb in/out of a tractor cab/trailer.
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery (including working outdoors in inclement weather).
  • Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel.
  • Operate a tractor-trailer combination up to 11 consecutive hours, in all types of weather, while safely transporting non-hazardous materials.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents or violations.
