Chalk Mountain is all about family. If you need time off just let them know and they will let you have it. Always nice and friendly easy going and no Drama. They truly are all about safety. If there is something wrong with your truck or trailer, take to the shop and they will either fix it or they down it and get you another truck or trailer. (Like i said, safety first).

Pros

New equipment, home every night, top pay $20.00 , all about safety, friendly staff easy to talk to, easy work one load a day, paid holidays, and paid time off(PTO).

Cons

For the ones reading this. We are all truckers here, like with any job there is always going to some stuff you don't like about a job the only thing is how much can you take. I don't have anything bad to say other than do your job as safely as possible and they will leave you alone and let you work. They do not micro manage here.

Work ethic: Safety practices are strongly encouraged and pushed onto employees.Rest and mental health is something that is key to proper driving.PPE is readily available with proper notice.Uniforms are FR but typically comfortable, depending on your preferred size Logistics: communication between established yards can be mixed at times, but for the most part loads are planned well ahead of various shifts.Inter-office contacts are provided to all drivers, with quick results of any needed info. Pay is well balanced, according to experience.Extra days of work are sometimes available, which helps with holidays and those of us who save for a rainy day. Overall, the interaction between drivers is professional and friendly, with daily experiences shared and discussed in pre-shift meetings.

Pros

I'm home every day,my family is ecstatic to see me everyday. The work schedule is flexible within reason, and no topic is too mundane to discuss with the supervisors or dispatch.Information on safety sheets (MSDS) is available, which i hadn't been privy to at previous employers. The yards are located off main highways,so travel to and from home can usually be easily achieved with proper planning.Employee perks are incredible, and have steadily escalated in rewards for safe driving and employee perfor

Cons

Delays in transport are usually construction, average drivers, and school/holiday traffic. There are times where being rerouted is a possibility due to these situations.I havent found a solid contingency plan shared among all shifts of dispatchers to prepare for any traffic obstructions. I'm still able to complete my load delivery but typically a minor reroute can add a few hours to the work day.Highway conditions can certainly be monitored in an manner other than taking a wild guess off of local

To me this company has always been there for me. Every I have had a issue weather it be family or out late with the Fire Department that I am on, they have always worked around it. The managers know the drivers and about there lives because drivers are so close to them. Every one is treated like family here. People that are talking crap and bad mouthing this company to me have done wrong and or themselves caused them to no longer be employed by the company. As long as you do your job and follow the rules here, its a great company to work for. Yes there is always issues everywhere you go. But here for what you make you cant beat it, considering that we are home with our families every night/day depending on when you work. Most of the time we work a 4 days on 2 days off, with the option some weeks to work more if we choose to. are not forced to work extra if you do not want to.

Pros

New Trucks/Trailers, great maintenance, if the truck/trailer is not up to code to be on the road they will not let you take out on the road, Work around days off that you need and family issues.

Cons

None really. Driver Drama that drivers start like anywhere else.

Great equipment. Honest and fair management team. Dependability and job security. Real Commitment to safety. Fast paced environment that requires you to hustle. Company is committed to continual improvement. No company is perfect, but Chalk Mountain is an honest company that has a solid foothold in the eagle ford and Permian basin. Steadily growing each year.

Pros

Great equipment, housing provided, steady work at competitive salary.

Cons

home time challenging for West texas operations.
