These people sent me into a hurricane and couldn't afford the fuel to get me out. They stole from there drivers, read about the lawsuits on that. If u worked there in the past 2 years you can sue them and win. They have missclaified there drivers and owe u alot of money. Witch I'm about to do. They owe me at least 87,000 dollars.

Pros

None scam. They will rob u

This is absolutely a company that takes pride in scamming as many drivers as possible to pad their own pockets. All drivers, please be aware and NEVER sign to or do any business with this company, EVER!!! They take escrow without telling you a reason. They were charging me for CSA points if we received a ticket, basically being double punished. They moved my payment date from Monday or Friday if you have a certain bank to whenever they felt like paying me. This company is so brazen that they put a fake BBB logo on their page. Are you serious??? Go on BBB page and look for yourselves. I can’t make this up. Better Business Bureau made them take it down. They had/have a lawsuit against them wrongly classifying drivers as contractors when we are company drivers. You think they told us anything about this. Not at all. I’m very surprised that this company hasn’t tanked yet. Please do yourselves a favor and avoid, avoid, avoid.

Pros

None to mention

Cons

Scamming

I worked for DVL from August 2022 thru June 2023, and unfortunately I CANNOT recommend it to any other owner operators. I feel like the company is going through a lot at the moment and that is being reflected 100% as a whole. The article from the Chicago Tribune “#1 top place to work” must be the biggest paid advertisement ever, there is no way in #### this is the #1 place to work in this industry. Their deductions are very high, which doesn’t correlate with what the pay should be for an owner operator and I will tell you why, keep reading!. Basically the way I see it is that as an owner operator you are competing with their company drivers. My whole time there I felt like if I worked under a forced dispatch environment, I feel like DVL gives their good loads to company drivers and owner operators are basically left with breadcrumbs. There were many times I didn’t get paid in time and that caused me many problems with my banks as I had bills to pay in time, as a matter of fact I requested them to cover over $120 in overdraft fees given by my bank a few weeks ago due to their irresponsibility for not paying me in time. I am afraid they are administering funds or profits in a very irresponsible way which is causing them to be unable to cover their bills or payroll. DVL will give you a fuel card and only $0.40 per gallon, but in reality they’re getting up to a +$1 per gallon discounts, and pocketing the difference. Dispatchers were told to cut off rates for drivers, those rate confirmations were 100% edited in order to remove $150-$300 from the original rate confirmation, I reached out to a few of the brokers I suspected was happening and the rate difference was confirmed. Their safety team charged me unfairly for an inspection that happened in California on Sept 4th 2022, they claimed they were given points for that inspection but the FMCSA safer website shows otherwise, and I was charged $630 as a penalty. I brought it to them sometime later and nothing was done. Their fleet department manager Oleg is absolutely incompetent, his lack of understanding towards drivers can be seen 1000 miles away. On May 9th they sent me an email letting me know that they were going to start charging $250 for parking at their terminal. I refused to park there. Though there were very nice people there, for example Justin, or Dominic (very very nice and smart guys) I feel like the majority of people at DVL are just wolves in sheep’s clothing, they’ll smile at you but once you turn around the whole thing is different. The terminal in general is nice, it’s got basic amenities, like laundry room and a fitness center. Prices at their mechanical shop are not that “discounted”. You can definitely find cheaper mechanical work somewhere else. Dispatch fees for owner operators is 12%, plus your weekly deductions which could be around $750, plus whatever you spend on fuel. For lease trucks their dispatch fee is 25%, plus about $1,400 in weekly deductions plus whatever you spend on fuel. To be honest, I think that there are better companies out there. I left DVL with a bittersweet taste. Unfortunately now I have to wait 90 days to get my $2,500 escrow back, which by the way they will return with no interest (as it is required by the FMCSA). Perhaps they will take into consideration these reviews and make changes that are clearly necessary at the moment.

Pros

Nice fitness center Nice terminal

Cons

Dishonesty Greediness Untruthfulness
