It was a very weird experience working here. Nice people, but the Doug the operations manager is definitely a weirdo (Lol my opinion) and he will use you anyway he sees fit, if you allow it. It was just a weird situation, everyone that’s been there forever has kinda the same story of how they had an emergency and they didn’t fire them, so now they were all forced into a life of indentured servitude to this company that doesn’t pay them hardly anything. Lol, I mean I worked my behind off and when I added up say a months worth of settlements, it was $3415.88. gross. For a months worth of work! They have these older ladies as lookouts (Lol) which I found comical (Ha Ha). It was cute, like little old lady soldiers :))) I would just wave and keep moving. They have cameras in the truck, Inward and outward facing. The trucks go about 62-66 miles per hour. So yes nowadays you will be the slowest thing on the road. Swift will blow your doors off :))) There’s no APU, the trucks are just ok and very very basic, if you do work here only consider local or only out a day or two, because is really hard to stay in those trucks longer than that. Be prepared to say ‘no’ and stick up for yourself because the dispatchers have absolutely no accountability. Read your load plans because on one load I was instructed to go to a whole other state with the same name by my dispatcher, is I didn’t read my load plans and just went off his word, well I’d be SOL, not saying it was on purpose, but it did happen multiple times. Overall it wasn’t a bad experience, their are some pretty nice people there, it was just very very very weird. So I left and got a job down the road, doing the exact same thing for way more money and very nice trucks, that were spec’d for todays driver. APU’s, no cameras, comfortable mattress, big fridge, I CAN take my wife and my dog (Lol) you CANNOT take either at Johnsrud. They fired a guy for having his wife in the truck with him, I think that’s absolutely ridiculous, if we have a loved one that wants to come with us, we should be allowed to being them. Just expect low pay and mind games. Not from everyone, some genuinely do care. Just my two cents…

Pros

Blue trucks Nice people

Cons

-Inward and outward facing cameras. -No APU’s and they don’t want you to idle. -Small fridge. -Paper thin mattress = back pain -Low Pay and the illusion that being paid per hour is for the driver. -No rider policy -No pet policy -Fellow drivers watching you. -No earrings, long hair, beards. -Have to were a uniform. -the list goes on.

Johnsrud is by far the best tanker job i ever held. im in the liquid food grade lane. dispatchers are knowledgable. They keep me rolling. i stay out 6wks, then go home for 5 days. I run east of the Mississippi and love it. I can tell you that Johnsrud wont lie to you, If your a professional driver, and are looking for the same in a company, Johnsrud is the place for you. Hands down the best.

Pros

Professional, Supportive, Knowledgeable Company. With decent equipment.

Cons

Could have more benefits, and update their peoplenet software.
