The equipment is mostly 2020 or 2021 Freightliner Cascadias. 68MPH governor, so you'll be passing most of the trucks on the road. The trailers are all newish reefer trailers that specialize in High Value Cargo. A small majority even have the self inflating trailer tire system. I started with CRST through their driving school. After my co driver and I showed we weren't complete eff-ups, we tried as soon as we could to move to Pegasus. We're on the younger side of the fleet, which means they're serious about getting as many drivers as they can over here, because eventually they're gonna have to replace their drivers. They recently approved a pay increase for their High Value Cargo division, .75 cents a mile which you split with your co driver. I'd say that makes us among the highest paid company drivers in the industry. We run about 5000 miles per week. So it would be 5000×.375 (split .75 cpm with co driver). They have special divisions which haul blood plasma, which is labor intensive but I've tried and it's not for me. They have accounts with major car manufacturers. They have dedicated accounts and solo routes. But their major thing is high value routes for team drivers. They pay layover, Detention and Load monitoring Pay. They reimburse for parking fees and any truck expenses.. I've never had a problem getting any out of them, unless it was a problem with a Driver Manager not submitting them to payroll, and then a supervisor would always make it right. Their hometime is standard, 4 day off every 4 weeks. With a week of paid vacation every year. They have 401k with company match, and decent health insurance in the form of 2 seperate plans. I've currently been a truck driver for just over 1.5 years . I started with CRST and HATED IT. But Pegasus is their sister company and is the real deal. I've been here for almost a year now. I've never had a complaint that they didn't fix by the end of the work week. I dont plan on going anywhere anytime soon. They've never given me a reason to. -Jordan L

A friend of mine runs regional for them and enjoys it. Don't know much else other than I live a block from one of their regular stops and see their day runners regularly. They also have an office in this town too.

i know if we weren't planning on moving out of the area my bf would've tried to go with them.

I ran for them for about 2 years and my mother in law ran for them about five years they are ok and keep you busy just have to watch that they don't get you runs you don't have hrs for. They was good at getting at getting you home on weekends. Just don't get hurt they try to get use doctors that's say your go to go when your not I won't go into details other than even after one of their doctors said surgery was needed they got a different one to say it was not.

Almost all their trucks are up to date as they lease weekly from Penske and ryder you have to turn in your truck to whatever rental place your assigned to on most weekends you may end up changing trucks off and on but for the most part your in same every week suggest you keep things easy to take out especially valuables. As its serviced and sometimes has to be used during weekends or while extra days off such as vacations.

All and all decent pay good at home time.

Your assigned truck may be used as a slip seat when your not in it. got to keep records of state lines lots of paperwork but not more than other companies.

Not a bad company to work for unless you get hurt.

forgot a few of your questions if I remember right they used to pay a certain amount on the big holidays

they pay a separate per deim was 30 every night out I think.

they offered a few medical packages.

Things have really gone downhill since the buyout

I've been there 7 yrs

Leaving very soon

Crst brought in new trucks that are bare bones. Not even a tractor air dump.

Anyone worth anything has jumped ship.

If you live in Louisville, want to get home a couple times a week, and be off part of the weekend, I guess it'd be OK.

You'll run Ford short hops.

Scramble 6 days to get 2800 miles in the Midwest.

The CPM is good, but not worth it.

No idling

No apu

3 minutes and truck shuts down

Even In traffic or at a light

Optimum idle

Truck turns on and off all night waking and shaking you

If it works

Governed at 68

Was a good CO. 10 years ago

A decent CO. 5 yrs ago

Now it's just crst

I can confirm everything you say. I planned to stay for a year, I lasted three weeks. Great cpm, but running short hops like a madman to get any miles. Just like you said the trucks suck. They promised me they are a separate company, but crst controls everything.

Operations manager is an ashclown. Ditto for the safety director. Don't even try to ask the daytime city dispatcher to let you in the office. He wouldn't notice you if you were blazing on fire while wearing a suicide vest. He was so rude to my wife, wanted to bash his face in. Like op says, stay away.

No globalization would be if a foreign company bought American companies or vice versa, but we get what your saying.

I hated Pegasus because as a team we weren't told of the bs that comes with hauling pharma before being hired. You have drive the beginning and ending 250 miles without stopping. You are responsible to guard the loads 24/7 which means one of the drivers has to stay up at all times and guard. We were also told to be vigilant of ms-13 and other gangs or criminals who would kidnap/high jack your truck. We had a code box on the truck in which you had to constantly enter a code to start the truck. All this extra responsibility, for little over average pay hauling regular freight.

We were promised this is a separate company, nothing to do with crst. But this is basically like driving for crst lol. I mean they had crst team drivers in orientation because they couldn't recruit veteran drivers. I was so embarrassed pulling a crst trailer.

The truck we were assigned was disgusting. We asked for a new mattress and they hesitantly gave us a piece of foam. Lol yes, a piece of foam. The mechanics were #######. If you need something mechanical, get ready to be on hold for 30+ min because you now have to call crst shop.

Some of the dispatchers were nice, others douches. Wayne and Brent on the dry side were very cool. Like I posted above, the operations manager was such a condescending ash hat and the safety manager was just a goof ball.

The only good thing I can say is if you live in Louisville you will get home all the time. Most trips go to Ohio, Mi, Il, and Mo and back. Other than that I would stay far away.
