Fired me because I have dyslexia. The trucks were nice but the trainer was I know it all. I learned to drive tractor trailer in Charlotte North Carolina and he got mad at me for using my local knowledge to get somewhere faster then his preferred route also had me fired for having a disability

Pros

IS THIS RIGHT? To strand good drivers 900 miles from home in a blizzard because of Safey related company reprisals. Don't ignore engine warning lights drivers...

Pros

$10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS

Cons

Stranded in blizzard. Not Resigned!

Are they serious?

i havent been with ss in around 3 yrs but the ups and/or time sensitive runs are the best ones, if you show yourself to be reliable youll have all the miles youll ever need. larry denhof is the manager for that stuff. furthermore they wont harass you about idle time once you "prove yourself" at least thats how i saw it..i had 100% idle, if i was in the trk i had power and hvac unless i wanted it off.

Superservice questions

Q: Can anyone tell me about Superservice Equipment and policies? HP rating, allowed speed, routing and fueling?

A: horsepower??? you will climb the mountains just as well as any of the other otr carriers

speed? governed at 65

fueling.. pilot, flying j, petro, TA.. activated at all via fuel card although they do want you to use fuel routing i would usually just pick what was convenient for me.

Beware of Superservice

I worked at Superservice for 5 months. Left because the the miles were not there. 300 miles one day, 400 the next. Plus they say it's mostly Drop and Hook. Yeah right, more like live load 80% of the time. So I had enough. On my day off I returned the truck to the yard cleaned out my truck and quit. Come to find out they put a "Cargo Loss" on my DAC report. When I never had one. I'm trying to fight it, but beware of Superservice LLC, Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Mi. They don't hesitate to lie on your DAC report when you leave.

Beware of Superservice

i was with them for over 5 yrs, i got plenty of miles. i quit to work local eventually, but SS isnt bad at all, not even during bankruptcy.. the worst was in 2008, 2009..the miles were low at that point but it was bad for most people, infact i was stuck in the southeast for 3.5 days at one point. overall i think its an above average OTR type carrier with dedicated accounts.

I work there. Message me and I'll give you the straight scoop. I just saw this forum so I'm still checking it out. Sorry about the OP's experience. They do have their issues. The one about 800K mile trucks is one but they are buying new ones all the time and if you do get a high milage truck (my first had a million 3) they pay you an extra 3 cpm to put up with the quirks and it won't be all THAT bad. I certainly have driven worse for less money. Hate to hear about the trainer. The one's I know are excellent. I've never been told not to drop a loaded trailer at a truck stop as a matter of policy, though I have always avoided doing that when I can. Have no idea why dud got left in the truck. They pay for a motel.

Anyway. They're OK. not the best but by far not the worst either and pretty much the stuff I don't like is with all bigger companies. I been around enough to know what just goes with the turf. Pretty much nothing that doesn't happen pretty much most larger companies.
