BYD Delivers Electric Terminal Tractor to Manhattan Beer Distributors

Milea Truck Sales and Leasing, a BYD dealer, recently helped deliver an 8Y electric terminal tractor to New York beer and beverage wholesaler Manhattan Beer Distributors. This is the first of its fleet of around 355 trucks running on battery-electric power provided by BYD. The car can run consecutively for up to 26 hours without a recharge, making it ideal for use in busy warehouses and yards such as Manhattan Beers.

Patrick Duan, Senior Vice President at BYD, praised Manhattan Beer’s green initiatives in choosing this energy-efficient solution. In contrast, Juan Corcino, senior director of fleet and sustainability at Manhattan Beer, said they were excited to partner with BYD and NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research & Development Authority) on the project. All vehicles are assembled at the Lancaster facility owned by BYD in California.
