At the IAA Transportation Conference in Hanover, Daimler Truck unveiled significant advancements in its electric vehicle (EV) lineup and infrastructure services. The company introduced the TruckCharge brand, aimed at supporting electric truck charging infrastructure globally. This move aligns with Daimler’s broader push to support fleet electrification and sustainability.
In Europe, the company will begin serial production of the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, a heavy-duty electric truck with a 310-mile range per charge, in November. Daimler is also enhancing its Financial Services division to offer comprehensive e-mobility solutions, including charging, maintenance, and financing options for electric fleets.
Beyond EVs, Daimler is advancing its hydrogen technology, showcasing the Mercedes-Benz GenH2, which successfully completed a 650-mile trip on a single hydrogen fueling. This demonstrates Daimler’s dual strategy of promoting both electric and hydrogen-powered solutions to meet the diverse needs of heavy-duty transportation.
As Daimler transitions towards a greener future, its initiatives highlight a commitment to innovation and sustainability in the trucking industry.
