A Texarkana man has been indicted by a grand jury and arrested. He allegedly fled the scene after striking two truckers who were inspecting their vehicle on the side of the highway. But the story only gets stranger.
On July 24th, Glenn Garcia went to Car Mart, to test drive a car. On the test drive Garcia took it on I-30 just outside of Texarkana. It was there that he allegedly left his lane and struck two truck drivers who were inspecting their vehicle on the side of the road.
In dash-cam footage recovered from the truck, you can see a White Toyota Camry with plates registered to Car Mart blast past the truck. Then the trucker couple can be seen holding their right arms in pain. It turned out that both truckers suffered fractures in their arms.
During the incident, the left side mirror of the Camry was knocked off of the car.
Investigators used the license plate to track down the car and found that it had been returned to the Car Mart lot. The lost mirror fit exactly.
Before authorities could track down Garcia however, an employee from Car Mart called Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Aaron Jones. Garcia was back at Car Mart trying to take the car again. He told the employee that he had damaged the car in a collision that happened in a different part of town.
Garcia was arrested and indicted on two counts of failure to stop and render aid. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. He is currently being held in the Bowie County jail on $50,000 bail.

And the “public” seems to think we are the bad drivers. We are the PROFESSIONALS and have to constantly look out for cars doing stupid crap! I am so glad that he was caught (as they say – a criminal returns to the scene of the crime!) and I hope my fellow truckers are on the mend. As Corporal Hicks told his troops in Aliens, “Stay Frosty!”
Thomas Hardin says
How was the driver’s side mirror damaged? What side of the road were the drivers stopped on?
Patricio Aguayo says
Prayers for all parties on this issu.
Joe Smith says
I wonder how much he will be able to sue the truckers for.
Nacho says
Thank God this person was caught, what he did was very, very wrong and what’ makes it worse is that he lied and tried to get away with his wreckless behavior, This man should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

An you wonder why the world in the shape it is in..a human life mean nothing.

Bunch od hipocrites
Giovanni Socci says
Change it…how? No one respects us??? What are you talking about? I am respected bc I respect everybody, give respect and you ll get respect back.
Rocket surgeon says
Keep parking on the side of the road and see what happens.
Jack Culp says
The most dangerous thing that we as truckers can do is park on the side of a highway, but bunch of idiots we have out here today think that the shoulder is a safe parking place. I have seem so many fatalities because of this. If you do it and cause someone to get killed, I hope they convict you of manslaughter and you loose your CDL for life.
Benjamin Atwater says
There should be a law that mandates that if a person causes injury or death behind the wheel; that person loses their driving privileges for Life!
James Jones says
I AGREE that a person should lose their driving privilege for LIFE. ANYONE that causes injury or death should suffer the consequence.
Katerys says
Absolutely agree!!! especially when driver lying about it🤦🏻♀️
Gary says
That won’t stop them from driving, without a license.
Giovanni Socci says
🤣🤣🤣 You are crazy, that will NEVER fly.
Grim Reaper says
I agree with stiff penalty’s and am concerned about the two drivers ability to support their families &/or make their truck payments while recovering!
I pray they are okay 🙏🙏
Mark Gillespie says
Cancel the bail we’re to close to the border

Matthew Eitzman says
I hope the mirror got repaired.
Giovanni Socci says
Fine and dandy….but why the heck were there TWO DRIVERS on the side of the highway (I 30) inspecting their trucks? this should ve not have happened if they had inspected their trucks like most of us do,parked in a safe spot,When will they ever learn?.
Michael C says
Nowhere does it say they were doing their pre-trip inspection. They may have just had a flat or blown tire, or some other issue that came up while they were driving down the road.
Michael C says
They were team drivers in the same truck, not two drivers of two different trucks.
Tim Gurney says
Gee, I guess if there may be something wrong after my Pre trip I should just keep going and not stop to check it out? inspections should happen as needed. Better than ignoring a problem until the trucker becomes the problem. Stop trying to turn it back on the truckers.
David says
Does Garcia have a drivers license, is he legal in the country? He is obviously not familiar customary procedures in this country, like stopping after you hit someone!
POS, Ship him back!
David says
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Robert West says
They should not have been parked on the side of the damn road doing an inspection. If its in town there are plenty of ramps they could have gotten off at. The guy driving the car is just as culpable. But its another of example of the severe shortage of common sense.
Niki says
I’m surprised that the judge didn’t say the truckers are professional drivers and should have known what Garcia was going to do. The court will probably go over the truckers’ logs with a microscope to find anything to turn this around and put the blame on the truckers.
animal says
Too those say license lost 4 life should consider no fault accidents when a 4 wheeler hits you and person dies as a result does the driver of vehicle that was not at fault loose said license ?
Too those saying roadside inspection should been done at safer location tell that too dot officer they due all time .
