Nominations recently opened for the annual “Influential Women in Trucking” award and will be accepted through September 20.
“Women continue to make their mark in the trucking industry,” Women in Trucking president and EO Ellen Voie reportedly said. “It is a privilege to share their stories and inspire others through this award.”
Organized by the Women In Trucking Association and Daimler Truck North America the 2022 award has been a cornerstone that highlights the contributions of female participation in the freight hauling trades for more than a decade. The annual award honors a woman who has made a substantial contribution as the ranks of female CDL professionals continues to grow.
“(Daimler Truck North America) continues to support this award because we feel strongly about promoting and raising awareness of this industry and the many career paths it creates,” Kary Schaefer, chief engineer of cab systems and entire vehicle engineering at Daimler Truck North America, reportedly said. “Especially now more than ever, we want to highlight trucking in these unprecedented times. This award highlights the exceptional female leaders that help shape our industry and we want to show our support and continue to foster diversification in the workplace.”
It’s essential for those desiring to submit a nomination for a deserving woman to note that influencers also work in positions such as management, manufacturing, sales, dealerships, and owner-operators.
