A former trucker who was convicted of stabbing his co-driver during an argument over the cleanliness of their truck has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
On October 12th, 2018, police responded to a call at the Petro Truck Stop in Bordentown, NJ just south of Trenton. They found a trucker on the ground with stab wounds in his abdomen and learned that he had been stabbed by his co-driver.
Christopher Teeter, a 42-year-old trucker from North Carolina got in an argument with his co-driver over the cleanliness of their vehicle. During the argument, Teeter stabbed his unnamed co-driver in the abdomen with a knife.
Emergency personnel brought the man to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where he underwent emergency surgery and survived.
Teeter meanwhile was arrested at the truck stop and charged with attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, and will be eligible for parole after serving at least 85% of his sentence.

Trucker's Wife says
20 years for attempted murder and there are people getting 10 years for straight out murder. Okay.
William C Smith says
Must be black
Alex c says
What difference that make
Angie says
He’s Black. We get 42 years for killing a dog, while its attacking us. Can’t say I am used to it.
Tony says
Yeah, no doubt! My step brother was stabbed to death by his mom’s boyfriend, and only got 10 yrs. The judicial system is screwed way up.
Vaughn Cowan says
Wow! Is it really THAT serious?
John says
Not going to get any cleaner with more blood all over the windows. sheesh
bobtrucks says
Nah, shoulda waited til after dark and dumped him over the guardrail somewhere
Alex c says
Nah ,shoulda just bagged him at truckstop and left the bastard
MARIO says
Yes buddy enjoy your time you have a mental problem can anybody say BBQ
Rayzer says
Yes, the cleanliness struggle is real!
Rambo1 says
” WOW !!! ” Got 20 years of Detention !!! “
Donavon DeGraff says

Rayzer says
The sad thing is he’ll probably make more in detention pay than most of us. 🤪
Angie says
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LEROY EVANS says
GUY MUST BE TWEAKING..
Chelle says
I guess he wasn’t going to clean up after another man…
Craig Harris says
I can understand you want your truck clean. We are team players let’s work together….So sad
Eddie says
Clean up the truck it I’ll stab you!
OK, then who’s gonna clean up the blood?!?
Seriously, 20 years for a case where no one died?
Mrs. C says
Eddie while reading the article. I was thinking he must’ve been black to get the same time as if he committed murder. So I looked it up and yep he’s black…… Now before all you self-righteous truckers start talking smack…. I don’t agree one way or another because I understand both sides whether it’s wrong or not. I understand. My point was he HAD to be black to get the same amount of time as he would’ve if the codriver died. Smdh!!!
Alex c says
What difference that make
Brian Chapman says
All of you asking what difference does it make of he’s black ?
Are yall that naive to the current imprisonment and sentencing of minorities in this country ?
Really?
Angie says
Our laws are different and they know. We smell like weed, we are going to get shot or go to jail. They smell like weed they get a franchise to sell more weed with a prescription.
bruce says
This guy probably got his butt kicked and grabbed a knife to get even. I google searched for him and his picture popped up. He is big and looks the type who used his size to intimidate people but finally ran up abasing the wrong one who wasn’t afraid to fight him back physically and he lost.
Allen says
I hope he gets a neat and tidy cell mate.
Chickenwing says
Allen…. I was thinking just the opposite, hoping he gets a dirtier cellmate then his truck mate everyday of his 20 years.
Lawrence E Fessler says
I hope he does too or he’ll get beat again
James DeLap says
Lol
Steve says
Don’t think he’ll suffer much, jail cell about the same size as a cascadia cab. I’ve often thought it wouldn’t phase me at all.
Crissy says
Damn…… 20 years for a stabbing & the dude didn’t die is a bit excessive, also why don’t these articles ever say who the whack job driver worked for? maybe this is a trucking company (owned) site????
inaNYminet says
The man almost died are you that ignorant? Took emergency surgery to save his life so no, 20 years is not excessive for almost take my a man’s life. I’ll bet if it was you, you would want him in for life.
Daniel says
Who are you calling ignorant? Second degree murder is 10-25 years and he got 20-years for lesser charges.. Don’t bet if it was me, I would want him in for life — if YOU were the one being sentenced for 20-years, I bet YOU would feel it’s unreasonable!
Mike says
Who looks at this and thinks, “Oh, stabbing someone, leaving them to die, 20 years is TOO much!”?
OF course, no mention in the article if he had any previous convictions, perhaps there is a pattern of this kind of behavior that was escalating. 2 sides to every story.
I can see a reduced sentence had he never done anything wrong before. Had he realized what he did was wrong, dialed 911 immediately and given first aid to the victim, different story. He has no remorse for what he did, and, he left them man to die like a dog.
That is sub-human behavior.
He doesn’t deserve to live in a cushy American prison. Send him to Mexico or some other 3rd world country, let him see how GOOD we all have it here, how EASY it is to succeed in America.
Tip #1 for succeeding in America….don’t get so mad at someone that you stab them and leave them to die. That is a GOOD code we can all live by! There are many others like it, pretty much, follow the golden rule…do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. Pretty freaking simple.
I’m a neat freak too, and, I’d have a hard time sharing a truck with anyone, especially someone who was a slob, but, stabbing them because of it and leaving them to die? 17 years in a prison cell doesn’t seem like long enough.
No mention of long-term complications for the victim, certainly there is going to be emotional and mental issues long-term. What about physical issues? You don’t get stabbed in the stomach, nearly die, undergo emergency surgery and NOT have physical problems long term! Guy probably will have all kinds of digestion and bowel issues long term. That is an on-going multiple daily occurrence…think about how often YOU eat, have to take a crap. You think you just go back to “normal” after that kind of surgery???
Let’s concern ourselves with the actual victim here and not the POS he committed the crime. He is out of work now…probably won’t be able to drive a truck for a while.
Obviously, the criminal stands almost ZERO chance that he will get out of prison and be a contributing member to society…he’s gonna be damn near 60 years old and unable to have a meaningful job…might as well lock him up for life…let him do his 17 years (assuming good behavior) in prison, and then, if he can prove he’s capable of coexisting, transfer him to a minimum security prison. This dude is obviously whacked in the head, I’m thinking he needs to be in a mental ward doped up on medication 24×7.
Frankly, the POS should be stabbed in the stomach and leave him to fend for himself. That would be justice.
Put him in with the other scum bags who can’t seem to cope in a civil society and let them take “care” of him! Or, give him an alternative, zero jail time, but, you lose your citizenship and are deported to Afghanistan to live in a refugee camp. We have a LINE of people waiting to get into this country, who presumably WANT the chance to contribute positively to society. Kick this guy and all other POS who commit violent crimes OUT, give the sane, hard working people who WANT to be a functioning part of our society a chance.
Mike R says
It’s wasn’t just for stabbing he was convicted on several other charges as well. Hint maybe if truck drivers would maybe read the whole article you wouldn’t sound stupid.
Keshawn says
Glad you mention that Crissy because a lot of trucking companies are behind this sort of thing. They be pairing drivers up with bad tempers then neglect the to make changes when there are complaints about being paired with unbearable drivers .I’ve seen it a few times.
RAYMOND L BARNES says
Most truck drivers are pigs. They piss in jugs and dump it on the ground at truck stops. They piss in plastic bottles and toss it on the side of highways. During a pretrip I caught one of them taking a shit behind my trailer because he was to lazy to walk the 100ft to the toilet.
Daniel says
haha. He’s not too lazy – he just doesn’t like you. 😛
Mike charles says
😂 😂 😂
Mike says
Why are people bothered by someone pissing on the ground? As long as your not EXPOSING yourself to everyone, who really cares? For centuries, this is how we relieved ourselves. Pissing and shitting are natural, multiple daily occurrences, hopefully!
I’m not condoning shitting on the open ground and leaving it. If your going to do that, bury or otherwise dispose of it. And, sure, pissing in a bottle and leaving it behind for someone else to pick up, that is gross. How about the guys that leave the bottle in their truck and then forget which one is which and take a swig? Wow, that is gross! And, justice.
But, the dude who crapped behind your trailer likely was having some major urgency issue and likely felt he wouldn’t make it if he did walk another step.
And, I guarantee, your trailer wasn’t 100′ from the closest bathroom. That would mean you were at the FUEL PUMP when he dropped a deuce. Hard to believe that story. I’m sure you were parked out in the back of the truck stop.
I have been out in the middle of nowhere, pulled over, got up under my trailer or hid myself somewhere and crapped outdoors! When you gotta go, you gotta go!!! Did it just a few weeks ago…hauling a wide load with a permit…you aren’t allowed to leave your designated route and the nearest truckstop was over 10 min away, and you know, by the time you find a place to park an OD load (if you can even FIND one), duck-walk to the john, its going to be more like 20-25 min! I had the worst liquid hershey squirt I have had in a LONG time…nasty stuff. My stomach didn’t feel right for 2 or 3 days.
You think wild animals stand in line to use some filthy inhuman truck stop bathroom? Most of them just leave it, don’t even TRY to cover up the mess, and, they don’t care if it is behind your trailer or inside your cab!
Thank GOD I carry a portable toilet with me and I LOVE the freedom it provides me, and, knowing, I don’t have to use some filthy public toilet, pull off on an exit ramp, open the windows, and unveil myself of whatever nastiness crawled up inside me and died. I carry lots of toilet paper (the GOOD stuff, not the cheapest John Wayne stuff they have in public restrooms), lots of butt wipes, hand sanitizer, soap, water and towels. I can heat up hot water in my coffee maker and clean up REAL good!
But, I dispose of it properly!!!
BTW – John Wayne toilet paper is the stuff in most public restrooms that is so thin and nonabsorbent, just like The Duke, it wouldn’t take shit off anybody!!!
Shawn Norris says
Wow! Look out New Jersey correctional Christopher Teeter is coming that way and you better have his cell nice and tired are there will be serious consequences LOL
I give Christopher one hour in there and he will be the one doing all the cleaning and it better be clean new name Christina
John says
Try attempted murder pal.
Bill says
Never had any interest in driving team. Don’t want anyone to see the ladies I hook up with!
Durtyda says
Such lighthearted responses to a very
Dire and Grimm event. I would almost
Bet not one of you would have even
Tried to deescalate the situation if it
Played in your presence.
Samiullah Henderson says
WOW! This is why I solo drive. You just don’t know who will get as a partner. That is a shame but I am glad the driver survived and also glad the other idiot is going to prison!
Les Wingfield says
That’s why I’ll never team drive. Who wants to ride with a fat, greasy, filthy, Cheeto eating slob for weeks at a time. I wouldn’t stab him, but I would have deserted him at a truck stop while he was inside resupplying himself with Red Bull and Spam. Don’t be a mouth breathing fat slob and expect others to accept it.
Tantan says
Lol
Alex c says
I’m sure ure the jack la,laine of truck drivers
4095-247-365 says
Where’s the rest of the story.
All that time, taxpayer money…and rapists will be out of jail sooner.
Flawed
Daniel says
Uhh, they already posted the story months ago: https://www.thetruckersreport.com/trucker-stabbed-co-driver-messy-truck-convicted-attempted-murder/
Juan robledo says
Must of been a brand new truck off the show room floor, hey it’s a crummy world out there, the pick of the litter sort of speaking didn’t work in this situation, the driver got a trashy truck driver and shit hit the fan, the best thing for the driver who stabbed the poor slub was to leave the trashy truck driver at a truck stop and continue on, or at the next rest area
Mike says
He obviously had priors on his record to get 20 years.
Matt brown says
Sending truck driver to jail is a joke.
Most drivers spent years sleeping and living in 4×4 jail cell AKA Sleeper-birth.
The only difference is you don’t have to use ELD in jail.
Mike R says
I read some of these comments you so called truck drivers make and just shake my head in amazement at how any of you ever got a job driving a truck. Can you not simply read the whole article so you will at least seem intelligent? The driver was charged with attempted murder and a host of other changes also so I’m thinking he got a lot less time than he deserved. I mean if anyone is willing to kill someone over something as silly as the cleanest of a truck has no business driving a truck. But what really bothers me is the complete disrespect you drivers show to each other. We are suppose to be a brotherhood and help each other but we don’t instead we find joy in seeing things going wrong or just plain out wrong but say nothing.
Nathan says
Correct that’s why we are the despised bottom feeders of industrial America, because we hate each other.
Nathan says
Hey, his cell will be clean and he doesn’t need to deal with DOT and dispatch anymore. Sounds like he did ok for himself.
Mark Gillespie says
Hope he was smart enough to sue the company he worked for for hiring the felon in the first place
Lloyd blackman says
They did not mention any race ? Why to hide etnicty all races does evil at times …so why every thing has to b black ..& a bad manner ..no one is perfect regardless of race ..all races some clean some not simple as that so stop all that PORTRAYAL
Donk donk says
It’s a pity to read all these comments and everything from folks so uneducated about the law. So nobody died? They didn’t charge him as if the victim died. They charged him for attempting to kill the guy. Which is probably, apparently, what his intent was in his fit of rage. Apparently nobody understands the penal code and the range of punishment for violations of the law. In New Jersey the range on the charge of attempted murder is 10-30 years. You’re also forgetting all the other charges he was found guilty of in connection with the attempted murder. He got off easy, considering he was guilty of every charge, unless any of them were dismissed and they failed to mention that. He could’ve gotten 30 years for the attempted murder alone. It’s not like they hold your hand when you’re the criminal and say hey we will do this instead just give you 5 years instead.
Donna Matchett says
super sad. What is our world coming to, stabbing someone for not cleaning is over the top.
Mohammad Awais Tipu says
Too bad 2 truckers families are destroyed I hope and pray that God make it easy for both the families and they can go on with their lives.
Tantan says
Holly , the other guy must drove him to insanity to stab him. Imagine something bothering you and you can’t do anything about it……..
Big Hundo says
20 years. That’s it?
Reckoner says
If you put people in a confined space for long periods of time with no way out then things can go bad real quick.
That’s why astronauts and scientists who work in complete isolation go through extensive psychiatric tests prior to being assigned to a mission.
Truck drivers are not evaluated at all.
The only one who benefits from team driving is the carrier.
Karl says
Just imagine your son or daughter in that situation what would you want done to the perpetrator?
Damian says
Dispatch: “Chris, you’re still gonna make on time delivery, right”?
bruce says
Twenty years ago I had a trainer that I walked away from him and his truck because it had reached the point I was thinking hard about something that could have gotten me life behind bars for doing. The man was a virtual tyrant who had no business training a dog let alone a human being. Two drivers went to jail for assaulting him but yet he was still a trainer?
ray says
So it’s illegal to have a knife in the truck? I thought almost all drivers carried a pocket knife. They are useful in a 1000 different ways. Or 1001 ways if you include stabbing your co driver.
JohnT says
Idiots pull race card first thing! No person thinks, what prior crimes this loser has done? Obviously this trash has no self control if a dirty driver sets him to use a knife.
Gottem says
Well I would have to say we have a bunch winey ass growing men here arguing about something that doesn’t effect you or anyone on here posting! Damn it’s such a weak minded society we live in! World be so much better if we had kept to ourselves an mind our own business.
Angie says
My trainer tried to knock me off the top bunk, by driving off. I slid down the ladder holding on for my life. He also jumped in the drivers seat without me knowing it and backed up the truck, while I was hanging on the side. He told safety he didn’t know why he did it, but I told him I was getting off his truck and it upset him. Glad he didn’t stab me and I am fat enough not to have flew through the window when he got on the expressway. I got it on video, because people wouldn’t believe it.
Jake says
One more reason to never talk to the police.
https://youtu.be/d-7o9xYp7eE
Jake says
If he had called an attorney right away and then kept his mouth shut, he probably would not be going to prison. Drivers, please don’t talk to the police in situations like this. They are not your friends.
https://youtu.be/d-7o9xYp7eE
Jake says
Seems like a fight that got out of hand and then overzealous prosecutors wanted to make a name for themselves. They need additional inmates to keep the prison guards union happy. Now the NJ taxpayers have to shell out about $30,000 a year for this guy’s room and board. He’ll get better health care there than most OTR truck drivers.LOL
Rick says
No, 20 yrs.is not excessive, he left the man to die, so he has no remorse, I hope he cell mate is bigger, meaner, and messier than he co driver.
MARIO says
Yes buddy enjoy your time you have a mental problem
John says
I can’t come up with a number of dollars it would take for me to run team. I have trucked for over 50years with over 45years in my own tractor and trailer. I’ve teamed probably 20 to 30 times over that period of time usually training a friend or family that wanted into the industry. So if I wanted real rest I could get a room for a night or weekend. I can’t imagine running with someone I don’t know anything about. I always come up with YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU.
Jude says
How do you log 20 years of detention time?
Greg says
Good. He’ll be porked up the wazoo by his fellow prison pals during his stay in the big house. Asking himself if it was worth it…
