I started with this company in the container division ran two containers and after that ran power only loads off the load board. The agent didn't communicate properly and kept me in the blind first week was the only week I made any money as a owner operator with this company. The other weeks I made company driver money everything less than $1,000. Next I went to the other agent within the company running dry van. First week with that agent I also sat until Friday didn't make any money rest of the weeks I still made less than $1000 which lead me to have to give up my truck because I was making payments and couldn't make enough money from the company to afford my truck note. Didn't even get my last check because they ran me ragged for cheap loads close to 1000 miles. So it got used up in fuel and was in the negative when I got my settlement. Greatwide is not a good company and as a owner operator they'll tell you that you have to run across country to make any money with them. They take 25% and dispatch will try to push you to run in inclement weather. Recruiting will lie to you and sell dreams, don't believe it. They run off the load board like Uber freight and other load boards that regular small companies use, the bottom of the barrel loads. I ran close to 3000 miles and still didn't see a paycheck. STAY AWAY!! Fair warning!!

Pros

Nothing except you can go home when you want because you're a owner operator.

Cons

Bad agents within the company, bad dispatchers, bad settlement department, just horrible company.

The logo on the side of your truck should say "Will drive for food". You'd be better off 24/7 as a O/O temporary laborer driver.

Pros

Huh.?

Cons

$Math do add up.!

If you would like to get ripped off, lease on with Greatwide/American Trans Freight. Be on the lookout for *name removed* who is out of the Grand Rapids, Michigan office. You will notice skimming off the top of the freight, charges for their trailer maintenance and repairs and the so-called escrow. Still have not received any of such returned. Just another crooked outfit among the thousands in the USA. And YES, I have everything on Paper to prove my case.

I just resigned after over two years as a company driver and gave my two week notice. But when I checked my status on their internet it said I was terminated. I will waite to get my DAC report and see if it reflects the same. Greatwid like any other company wants a butt in the seat and have little or no care about the driver or their pay.

I knew a flatbedder who ran with them a few years ago, he loved them till he lost his tractor. He had issues outside the company and couldn't continue his payments. I met a guy down in Arkansas who says he almost left till he found a good broker. Now he uses that broker exclusively and is satisfied for now. I'm guessing Greatwide is one of those companies that are a lot like running broker boards. Once you find the right connections you'll rarely use their board again. Good luck to you, some guys make it there, some don't. Seems to be the luck of the draw.

Cardinal Logistics/Greatwide

Q: Does anyone have any information on Cardinal logistics/Greatwide out of Southaven MS?

Q: Did you find anything out? My brother lives in Southaven and is with Schnieder. They spoiled him with an automatic and he is wondering if Cardinal has them?

A: Yes they have all new tractors all automatic, they still have a couple of sticks 10 speeds that he might have to drive from time to time

Any low down on GreatWide..

I know what I am talking about when I say this so please everyone listen....... DO NOT lease on to GW through the GreatStart program. There isn't enough time in the day for me to explain the reasons why this is a horrible thing to do. I will say, in the 4 years I worked there, I saw driver after driver lose everything because of GreatStart.
