Company is growing. Opened up an intermodal drayage company in Memphis, TN. Very good for drivers that want to be home every night and make a good living driving a truck.

Pros

Family owned business. Driving options (Flatbed/intermodal)

ELS is a family owned and ran trucking company out of Kenly, NC. I like that they don't just treat you like a butt in a seat. They go out of there way to make sure their drivers are happy the best they can! They even have a driver council 2x a month to hear feedback from their drivers directly to management to get the problems solved quicker.

Pros

home time pay equipment culture

Cons

timeliness communication

Was only here for one day of orientation. Was told we’d have a good selection of trucks to choose from. Lie. Trucks were trashed out and beat up. Smelt like ashtrays. Was told we’d be making 60cpm I believe it was and have a guarantee of $1,500 a week. When I told the guy I wanted to do company instead of l/p he asked me if I wanted 25% with bonuses or 27% flat. I said I wanted mileage to which he replied they quit doing that Friday for new hires as well as no guarantee pay. By this time I’d already set things in motion to go somewhere else. Everything I’d been told was a lie. Come to find out we also had to have a equipment escrow even though we’d all chose company. Also had to pay them $100 for the freaking flashy light to put on the end of O/D loads. Not my truck so why am I paying for it? Only gave us 50 bungiees and if we wanted more we had to buy them. These folks are full of lies and I do not recommend them to anyone. Company or lease you’re gonna get the short end of the deal. Also I was told I could be home every weekend but they wanted us to sign a paper saying we promised to stay out 2 weeks at a time. Hotel was also nasty as could be too. Stay away from here.

Pros

None. Not the first one I can think of.

Cons

Will lie about everything to get a driver to come to work for them.
