Warning this is an honest review.. Spartan nash in midland ga. Is not a well organized company.. the transportation managers come and go. Mostly because of corruption dealing with money or mismanagement of resources. Not for abuse of drivers.. The company does not care about the drivers. The company will commit wage theft and disenfranchise you in a heartbeat. The drivers are worked like rented mules.. Nothing is done about it.. there is a useless union in place that does nothing but collect your money if you join.. union Stewarts are puppets for the company. You will find yourself fighting against in all kinds of nonsense threats no matter how professional you are.. The company uses cab cameras that's pointed in your face all day . It's a problem because There is perversion such as voyeurism in the company. To protect privacy and dignity All Drivers know to step outside to take personal calls.. A lot of people from all positions complain about returning from a vacation or a leave of absence and being terminated or threatened with termination.. I can personally say from experience that's true.. i guess driver time off is nonsense? you are seen as a workhorse owned by the company and nothing more.. this prison oops i mean company needs to quietly close its doors.. If you have self respect and dignity Stay away from this company. You've been warned.

Pros

You get to drive a big truck?

Cons

Constant Lying. Wagetheft..Voyeurism. No respect. Gaslighting. No security.

Spartan Nash is a great company, but the Columbus division is the worst it's full of corruption and bad management. This company makes you go through to much for some benefits. The police are constantly coming to this division. The management is horrible here the turnover rate is off the charts. I've literally seen a handful people start here stay for two days then leave. The transportation manager needs to be replaced every driver has made a complaint but nothing happens. The dispatchers are horrible when calling back if its a crisis while doing a run. So many of Spartan Nash trucks/trailer need to be out of service but dispatch forces the drivers to take them. If your a driver with kids they won't be seeing much of mommy/daddy you only have a 10 hour break. The payroll NEVER gets the pay right and dispatch NEVER has an answer for it. Not to mention the company gave all drivers a well deserved pay raise then took it back. My pay went up after my 3 month probation period then went right back to my starting pay. One year later still the same pay and the same pay problems. I wish i wouldn't have wasted time at this division.

Pros

The benefits are the only good thing.

Cons

Everything else about this place.

what do yall know about Spartan nash/mdv?

That's true. I worked for Spartan/Nash. I made most deliveries to Dollar General Plus stores and Dollar General Market stores. Go out. Stay in a motel. Back the next day. Except I was at 44cpm and 18 a stop/hour. They even paid for my meals breakfast and dinner while I was gone. It's not hard work once you get use to it. I had a Missouri Arkansas Tennessee run. 12 stops with milk back haul from Nashville. They'll give you an electric jack for your stops. 65k a year or more

MDV/Nash Finch

This is the worst place to deliver. They charge 300.00 to unload and it has taken them over 3 hours to do it. It's crazy. They could care less about the driver sitting outside, waiting to be unloaded so he/she can head to their next pickup.

MDV/Nash Finch

The MDV/ Nash Finch in Columbus GA are some of the rudest, slowest, and very expensive place to unload. I tried to deliver there awhile back and was told to come back the next day because they were overbooked on deliveries
