A dispute at a Love’s in Pennsylvania that started over parking led to gunfire. The trucker who fired her weapon was arrested and now faces multiple felony charges.
Ashley Hallman, a North Carolina-based driver, was at the Love’s in Middletown, PA just off of 283 outside of Harrisburg. It was around 7:30pm on January 30th. According to State Police, the 30-year-old trucker was approached by a man who told her that she was parked illegally and blocking traffic.
Hallman allegedly argued with the man, drew a pistol, and fired at him. Luckily, she didn’t hit the man, the gas pumps, or the other bystanders going in and out of the Love’s.
When authorities later arrested her, they found a loaded Taurus 9mm pistol in her waistband. The gun had a round in the chamber, seven rounds in the magazine, and she had an additional magazine with 12 rounds in it. Police estimate that she fired eight shots.
Hallman was charged with terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

Trent says
sounds like theres more to this story but either way it tells you
how bad parking is out there
it’s a joke . we supply the country with everything they have but we dont get a safe place to park. WAKE UP AMERICA.
Josh says
Sounds more like someone had a gun, an anger management problem, and fortunately, lousy aim.
I’ve always run nights and not only is there less traffic to deal with, I’ve almost never had an issue finding safe, easy parking.
Everyone cries about parking, so no one has an excuse for not knowing spots are harder to find at night, but instead of managing their time better to deal with the problem, they cry and moan for someone else to fix it for them.
We’re a bunch of crybabies, so I can’t fault people for leaving the CB off. We can’t do anything about the roads, lousy loads, or fuel prices, but the things we can handle ourselves, we just whine about.
Inanyminet says
You say you run at night but yet you do not state what Commodities You Haul that permit you to run at night? Not everybody can run at night due to the load or unload times for the Commodities they h a u l. Most of the ones that can run at night do groceries Warehouse. Yes there’s a serious issue parking all over the country but mostly east of the Mississippi that needs to be addressed. Using a gun and shooting somebody over parking space is a cowardly Act. You have a problem with somebody either talk it out or get a cop to settle it
Theresa Mellen says
She definitely has problem resolution issues or such a massive ego that she can’t handle any criticism. You never know what you may get confronting anyone about anything they do these days in this country. What a relief she is off the road and put away from the general public hopefully. Another irresponsible gun owner giving competent responsible gun owners a bad name. The parking situation is a joke even with the alleged driver shortage. I’ve been driving OTR several years and the last few I park in shippers and receivers open parking areas even though I am not picking up or delivering there. You just make note of where this availability is and just do it. I haven’t been booted out yet. You just need to use alittle ingenuity. Even if they do boot you out you go to the nearest “safe haven” however far that may end up being. Note it on your ELD. It’s legal to do so. You mentioned grocery warehouses but they are the worst offenders for allowing you to stay and finish your 10 hour break after loaded or empty. They want you off their property. Then finding a spot in the middle of the night is near impossible. Walmart DCs, Safeway DCs are the worst. If the Feds actually gave a rats ass they would regulate shippers and receivers as they do us.
Mary says
Right on.
Robert Allard says
You are totally right I have seen and was done to me the shipper had a note on the board at driver entrances saying after being loaded you all have to get lost or same direction.
Was in parking lot since 1600 hrs and got loaded at 0200 am it screwed up my sleep time and yet I had to find another spot somewhere to get back in bed.
jesie j says
yep the feds should force Walmart DCs grocery dc and any one that has adequate truck parking to provide most of them wasted your hours unloading you
Kendall Kendrick says
That is correct!
Crash says
Unless your running oversize there is no reason to not run at night, unless your solar powered!
Bob says
I definitely am solar powered.
I dont drive at night
Bluewitch says
Well most teams run day and night. But finding a place for 30 on the east coast is still a pain.
SpongeBob says
Want if you are afraid of the dark??
El NoCeapo says
We are not all dogs..driving hours 3am to 7pm range what I do..rare for anyone to accept a delivery 9pm to 6am so why bother all your doing is cutting yourself short
Keith E Bush says
Or a company driver who has a dispatcher that has your loads messed up
Charlie Krebs says
Or how about the old fashioned way? Go out by the trees, no weapons and duke it out. Win or lose some need a stern lesson!
Jim says
You can’t get hardly anyone to settle it that way anymore.
H D says
Damn typos
Depriest Ivey says
I run at night and I hardly haul groceries. I run at night because it’s more efficient.
Lady Driver says
My husband runs at night. He has hauled beef, onions, retail merchandise, carpet and steel rods… you name it for more than one company over the last 20 years. Running at night is time management and nothing more ! Taking into consideration pickup and drop schedules, bad roads, and weather anyone can do it. None of us knows the FULL story, but tall tales and lies will make her a legend and she is now out of work so no need to worry about parking in her spot is it?
Tim says
No not everyone can run at night!! It is not a time management problem!!! I run multiple stop furniture loads that delivers to furniture stores!! Now tell me how many furniture stores you have seen open at night??? I would love to run at night, but my job does not allow it!! So before anyone runs their mouth about time management, they need to have more information about what everyone does!!!
Joe says
Nope,, that’s not correct,, I haul dry box,,, I figure out how to make sure that I am running early morning,, I like to start about midnight to 3am,,, that way I finish between noon and 3pm,,, and I always find a place to park,,, yes I may have to take a short day when I have to deliver and reload but that puts my hours right back where I want them,,,
Mellow Trucker says
I try to run between 3-5 and try not to go past 16:00, but if I try to squeeze a bit more miles, I won’t drive past 17:30. I always find plenty of parking around that time. No real reason to run hard all the time because you’ll run out of hours. I’m all for concealed carry, but for PROTECTION not a parking issue. And before anyone chime’s in, yes I know at this time it is illegal to carry in a commercial vehicle (wink wink)
Robert E Rosser says
Your right, not all loads can run overnight, and after 5pm parking on the east coast becomes a problem, especially in states like Virginia where even in rest areas the police will ticket you and force you back on the road.
Kevin says
Grocery haulers are not the only trucks that run at night! What does it matter what commodities he hauls at night? Most of the LTL drivers leave their yards at night( you know the ones. that drive like idiots to do 300 mile turn or relay like they’re is no tomorrow!
Rich says
You dont need to state your hauling. Only drivers that are limited to when they can drive are oversized and certain permitted loads. I have hauled everything from hazmat food and I run nights one week days the next just depends on the schedule and logbook. Still its stupidity and no common sense that leads to situations like pulling a gun, unless your life is in immediate danger there is no excuse for drawing a weapon
Holly says
100% correct.
Warren Kennedy says
So true….entitled truckers are a problem. Plan your route. Either go to the shipper or receiver and park or pay for it you have to. The I can’t afford it excuse is bs. It is an expense.
Christopher25years says
We make the truck stops paychecks we should NOT have to PAY to park
Joe says
True you make their paycheck,,, but out here trucker’s also destroy their property and litter everywhere,, trash cans 20feet away and too lazy to use them,,, this is also the main reason Walmart is kicking trucks off their property,,, Truck stops are not your mother to clean up after you,,, so now they are charging for parking,,, and I gladly pay because I normally get a clean place to park,,, not one with cigarette butt’s everywhere or chicken bones dropped out the window,,, slob’s that’s what most people think of trucker’s,,, so maybe try changing the image and then you will get little respect
Phillip says
I understand that most truck stops are private owned businesses, or a franchise, but it should be illegal for them to charge us to park. You are right and without us they would have nothing.
Andrew says
If you’re not buying fuel or buying anything from them then you’re not their paychecks you’re getting a free parking spot for your 10 hours oh by the way truck drivers use that time wisely and maybe take a shower with hot water and soap because I’ve noticed over the years that many of you have poor hygiene do you have an affliction with hot water and soap?? Drivers take showers the free thank you
Peter Ross says
Nobody is making you pay…..
Inanyminet says
I don’t know how long you’ve been driving for a living or what perfect world you live in but a lot shippers and receivers either do not have the room or facilities for you to park overnight or they flat-out do not allow you to park on their promises due to liability. So your comment apparently not based rational reality.
Robbie says
And because drivers want to pee in bottles and leave them all over the lot wear they did let us park. My dad had a lot put trash cans and let drivers park for free but then we had to start paying someone to come clean up after some drivers so sad to say but he had to block it off. A few bad apples ruined it for everyone
Robert G says
Agreed
Phillip says
I agree, you are right. But that is another reason that they should be under law to get you in and out in a timely manner so that you can manage your hours appropriately. They know at least one week in advance that you are coming. So there is no reason to have you on their lot for more than one or two hours. Unless you are hauling a specialty or oversize load of some sort.
El NoCeapo says
Not an expense that o need to pay..if I’m not worth th10 to 15$ to park then im not worth giving my time.
John M Scherer says
Yes and all decent carriers reimburse if your company driver.
Robert E Rosser says
Even paid parking is inadequate in many areas. As towns grow and shipments increase so should parking facilities for trucks. Weather is another factor, after storms truck traffic increases dramatically and parking becomes impossible in certain areas of the country.
Mac says
When I pay 450.00 for fuel that should cover the pay to park fee
Billyjack says
Sir, with ELOGS you actually don’t get to choose when you can run, it decides that far you. Which making driving more dangerous then it has ever been. Myself I really don’t hear any legitimate complaints on the CB radio just mostly foul mouth truckers talking nothin. But to the main problem is the truck parking situation. I would say most all truckers know after 6 pm (more or less) you are not going to find a parking space in a truck stop most of the time and the government needs to work on that problem. The lady truck driver should have known better to pull a stunt like she did. It just wasn’t worth it. She can just thank God she did not kill someone.
Alex c says
Some redneck hose from a trailer park driving a,truck, ufb
Jason Turner says
Sounds like you are in a perfect world…
….sarcasm!
Iovanny Medrano says
So you can say that there’s Parking all over Right what about New York , Boston , New Jersey , and Main at Night you can plan all you want you have a 75% chance Even a 100% chance there is no parking after 4pm I plan all my Route and am on team Driver , you may have a point. You can Plan all you want , and know that it doesn’t always Go as planned.
Ron barnes says
Yes there is something you can do you can go to black smoke matters on facebook and get invalved there organizing a truckers strike on 4/12/19 and its not just a one day event could last for a couple of weeks. To tackle all theses issues.
Lady Doe says
I AM WITH YOU DRIVER. SO 04/12/19 IS THE DATE RIGHT. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH PARKING FOR DRIVERS!!!!!!!
Joe says
Yes there is,,,
William says
It needs to last a minimum of 7 days. The law needs changed that makes it illegal to unionize.
Barry Calkins says
Sooo TRUE. That’s why freight prices are so low some Big Companies will take any freight and cut everyone’s throat!!!
Larry says
Everyone should just leave their truck where it’s at hopefully a truck stop parking spot or rest area and tell our companies we need a raise or ain’t nothing gitting moved.
Dewman says
Ok soooo where will we park for this?
Sara says
I can’t leave my truck in a strange land to protest I have too much personal stuff to carry. I just know there’s someone else out there waiting to take my job and besides Mr. Tow Truck will take it away. Don’t think any trucking companies would hire me after that. They wouldn’t be able to trust me with their equipment and loads. How about your back yard is it a safe place? Larry
Mike says
The only thing that needs to happen is the fuel trucks need to strike. No fuel means every trucker has no choice but to stop. Police fire and ambulance. 4 wheelers. That is going to be the most effective way.
Robbie says
You have hit the nail on the head but it’ll never get any better.
Charlie Krebs says
Very well said!
Edward Wyatt says
Couldn’t agree with you more… I also prefer to drive the late shift and never have trouble finding a place to park. Well said!!!
Sam says
Hey josh, most deliveries and pickups are made between 7am and 3pm. Most of us can’t run at night.
Ricky Hinkle says
Not everyone has a choice to run at night
Daniel says
With drivers like Josh it’s not surprising that trucking gets worse for drivers every year.
Jim says
That boy needs to run across 80 or 90 and try to find parking
Matthew says
You seem to not realize that 90% of freight is loaded during daylight hours and not every load affords the ability to only run at night and park during the day. ELDs have caused this problem because they don’t allow for flexibility.
Roy Smith says
Paper logs didn’t allow for flexibility either…..if you were filling them out correctly and running legal
Brian says
Man you response it right now. Truckers need to read this. All tru what you said.
Bill Burklow says
I agree with you 100 percent
None of y'all business says
Don’t you just have all the answers. Before you open your mouth with your “soultion” take into account that not everyone can run at night. . Some have customers who are not open 24 hours therefore they must drive and deliver during the day. However pulling a gun is completely ridiculous. Trip plan people and stop being a tightass and pay for reserved parking when you will be in an area with limited parking.then no one will shoot at you.
FP says
Paying for parking can hurt some people also, especially company drivers. Most DONT or WONT get reimbursed for parking.
Robert E Rosser says
You are either, not a truck driver, or you drive primarily west of the Mississippi river. I’ve never had difficulty finding parking in states like Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Montana, and so on and so forth, but Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia, parking facilities are filled after 6 to 7 PM at night. If you get off the road before that your in good shape, but from 19:00 hours until 05:00 your lucky to find any spot paid or not. I found the best thing to do is call a truck stop early and reserve a spot, but sometimes even that doesn’t work.
Richard says
Some drivers talk to female drivers with less courtesy and respect than to male drivers. I’ve seen it done numerous times. Treat all drivers with respect at all times regardless of gender, race, or ethnicity.
Robert Bowers says
Well if you never have problems in parking,ur either a local driver, or a terminal to terminal driver, who doesnt have to spend his nights in a sleeper, now if you are a person who parks just anywhere in a truckstop, then you are another kind of stupid and there are plenty of those people, the problem is real.
Brannigan Carter says
That doesn’t work for everyone. I’m a flatbedder. ALL my loads deliver and unload in mornings or daytime. I don’t get to drive at night. That’s not how much schedule works. I stop early enough in the day to get parking, but thinking every trucker can just drive at night is naive.
Mali says
Time management is key ” none”, so I had 120 minutes to run tonight there was a pilot 23 miles away and the expected parking hassle. Or a rest stop anouther 75 up the road. I staid at the rest stop before the pilot as if I had run the one seventy miles away could of been closed.
Barbara says
Parking has always been a problem which ironically is getting worse in some ways. Such as the closing of rest areas. Many companies do not work with night drivers schedules. I know because I am a night driver who has dealt with the ignorance of companies that cannot fathom the idea that if a person drives all night they are going to sleep all day. If anything we have to go beyond whinning to a motion for change. Accommodation and exception needs to be made for drivers to be able to park.
Robert LeDuc says
Disagree with you. Because you choose to run at night makes you the perfect driver. I wonder is it hard for you to hold the steering wheel with both hands patting yourself on the back.
Anthony Kornetka says
I run nights for 26 years.like you said everything is easyer.but new age cdl holder.cant stay awake.lol new driver have no respect orfourcommon sense
Steven Vail says
10-4
Randolph p Schaad says
Amen brother truck driveds are there own worst enemy I hate them and I bee. One for 38 years
Edward says
I can tell you haven’t been driving long cause you can’t always drive at night all the time,And there is not enough parking for all these trucks out here and the truck stops don’t make it no better by making most of the parking paid parking that’s not right with all the money we spend on fuel and food.
Jane says
I agree with you, but I’ve also found many times drivers don’t try to park in a parking space when they’re available, but just stop anywhere and pull the brake. Not concerned with what or who they’re blocking.
Adco says
Thank you Jane! My observation also 👍
Adco says
The other factor in this situation is HOS violations. They put us in a box then spank you for real life BS
Mali says
Adco you do understand that drivers are thought of badely in almost any social setting, we shoot ourselves in the foot daily…. Parking is a problem because we as a group are not nice to be around. We constantly dump our trash and toilet waste improperly and wonder why people don’t want to have us around.
However as to HOS, if you have to violate it, just have an accepted reason… Parking in my circumstances can be and has been a valid reason.
Robert Michalscheck says
The one’s that do that are morons, and they are putting way too many morons behind the wheel these days.
James says
You are exactly right, some have no consideration. Everyone knows loves pilots ,js have to little parking spaces. You have to get what you need and move on to the next place
The rat says
Thats very true jane no consideration out here or courtsey
John silveira says
Rage and violence among truckers are.getting worse by the minute, isn’t bad enough, that everyone else are,in some way against truckers and those associations and government only makes the matter worse.. trucker against trucker is ridiculous. But it is a sad reality. No wonder why nobody want to became a trucker.. is bad enough sacrificing our freedom and family for those underserved people.. now our safety are in jeopardy .. i really.miss the old times, when truckers did stand for each other…
Ron turner says
I’m a old school trucker that last comment when truckers stood up for one another those was the days of professionalism among truckers these companies now scraping the barrel putting anyone with no points on her license Behind These trucks and it’s crazy out there
Mickey Swabado says
We need to take advantage of the 4-12-2019 shut down. Everyone whether company drivers or O/O stop your trucks by 14:00 no later and don’t move it for minimum of 34 hours even if you don’t need a 34. Park at shipper, receiver, the side of the road anywhere to get attention. Companies cannot afford to fire anyone, they will have to go along with it. Due to driver shortages we need to accomplish this for our rights. We are out away from our families for weeks at a time while they the freight people go home to warm beds and good meals every night. We miss the birthday parties the holidays etc with family and friends so stand up be be heard on April 12th 2019. Please Drivers get involved
Sara says
Well here in Cali there is no shortage plenty of people from across the border have the jobs here.
Mali says
Ron…That was a time when being an American, ment you had shared values.
Greed and I am number one have never been values of much worth.
Annie says
Amen and soon will have to contend with the rvs parking in the lots because there to cheap to go to an rv park
Larry says
I remember one time I was dead tired went to a truck stop to find a parking spot and there was just one freaking car taking up a whole parking space that I could have used so I understand what you mean
Benjamin says
I have run a across that also.
Pull in behind and Rev engine with brights on.
Bang on door if necessary.
I’m a nice guy, but little tolerance for inconsiderate boneheads.
Mali says
What, Larry why did you not simply ask him to repark..lol
Robert E Rosser says
Yes and in some places I see cars in truck lots which really pisses me off because they can go virtually anywhere to park.
Mali says
Guys you report cars in the truck parking to the staff, they will move them along.
Alex c says
Yes
William says
So true
Danny Cowan says
I’ve been trucking since 94 and in my opinion I feel we do a service to this country that we aren’t exactly recognized for. Now we are dictated by electronic logs and everyone is on the same system basically. Drivers taking there 30 minute breaks in the fuel islands that is making it a mess for the driver’s waiting to fuel. It used to only take 15 minutes or so to fuel now its an average of 45 minutes. There’s closed down rest areas all over the place and we can’t park there because the entrances are blocked same thing on weigh stations. Most sipping and receiving companies don’t allow overnight parking and the new truck stops don’t have enough parking like the old big truck stops back in the day. So basically we deal with traffic, bad food or the same food at almost every truck stop, shipping attitudes, receiving attitudes, weather, construction, eld’s telling us when we’re tired or when ( that was a super bright idea. . . Not) and the list goes on adding drivers against drivers. I don’t think what she did was right and I believe it will only get worse due to everything we have to deal with. Just saying.
Glenn says
Amen Danny. Well said. I saw the writing on the wall a year ago & climbed out of the truck, for good this time, back last Sept. It’ll get worse b4 it’ll (if ever) get better. I started driving in 1984 & drove coast to coast til 1997 and took a 14 yr hiatus off the road til 2010 when I lost my business in the economic crash in ’08 & had to climb back in a truck to try to pay back creditors. It sure as hell wasnt the same industry as it was when i climbed out of the truck in ’97, the good ole days. The old ways of doing things no longer applied. Very little courtesy, very little professionalism, waayy to many **ckheads with CDL’s driving like they’re in a video game. Everything was foreign. I knew after 6/ mo back on the road that I was working in a cesspool & it wasn’t the same industry i thoroughly enjoyed from 84-97 & I saw the writing on the wall then & its done nothing but get worse for the real professional drivers still out here & lousy parking is just one of the dozens of boxes that’s checked on the list of why trucking sucks & it’ll just keep circling the drain in the cesspool. Get out & find something else to do, retrain or learn another skill because trucking has run its course & the good ole days are never coming back.
Sara says
Thank you drivers You both said that so we’ll. It will never be the same. Just our dear memories of how it used to be. We handled it just fine and here we are reflecting our past and proud of it. A big thank you to Kevin as well. I’m proud to say we all stuck together when it got rough and yes there were many of those times. A big 10-4 there buddies Be safe
Mali says
Danny, the only service we do is to ourselves. 😆…lol
Sara says
Driver you hit it just right. This 10 hour rule means sitting. Loads late no parking spaces all sitting
Sara says
I totally agree driver
Thankyou
Ever reddy says
Unity in trucking can handle all of that,,but there is none
Mike says
Yeah it’s rediculous..i been out there over 20 years and it’s not getting any better..
And states are closing rest area’s as well..
And your right there has to be more of the story
Edward Briddle says
Well said, but as soon as you park on a shoulder, on or off ramp some P.O.S trooper wants to ticket you!!!
Don Beaverz says
she was hungry angry lonely and tired. end of her shift. if I had a loaded automatic pistol on my torso I’d be shootn up the town too. No kill…just shoot Bang bang😎
Brad Gipson says
Agreed, likely more to the story. But, probably another self-entitled American piece of garbage that was indeed illegally parked, blocking traffic. What right did anyone have to tell her to move? If she wanted to park there everyone else could just deal with it. Another billie-big-rigger
BadInfluence says
What is this world coming to. Seriously, your going to fire a handgun at someone over a parking spot. How did such an ignorant person even obtain a permit to buy a handgun. Even worse if she had a CCP and had to sit through that 8 hour class to get it. I’m a NC resident myself and former Marine and I have a CCP it’s good in almost every state I travel in. Seems she lacks training in where the use of deadly force can be used. She should be made an example of for the rest of these drivers who carry handguns illegally in their trucks.
USE OF DEADLY FORCE:
Deadly force means that force which a reasonable person would consider likely to cause death or serious bodily harm. Its use may be justified only under conditions of extreme necessity, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed. A protective force officer is authorized to use deadly force only when one or more of the following circumstances exists:
(1)Self-Defense. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to protect a protective force officer or person who reasonably believes himself or herself to be in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm.
(2)Serious offenses against persons. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to prevent the commission of a serious offense against a person(s) in circumstances presenting an imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm (e.g. sabotage of an occupied facility by explosives).
(3)Nuclear weapons or nuclear explosive devices. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to prevent the theft, sabotage, or unauthorized control of a nuclear weapon or nuclear explosive device.
(4)Special nuclear material. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to prevent the theft, sabotage, or unauthorized control of special nuclear material from an area of a fixed site or from a shipment where Category II or greater quantities are known or reasonably believed to be present.
(5)Apprehension. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to apprehend or prevent the escape of a person reasonably believed to: (i) have committed an offense of the nature specified in paragraphs (a)(1) through (a)(4) 1 of this section; or (ii) be escaping by use of a weapon or explosive or who otherwise indicates that he or she poses a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm to the protective force officer or others unless apprehended without delay.
Additional Considerations Involving Firearms. If it becomes necessary to use a firearm, the following precautions shall be observed:
(1) A warning, e.g. an order to halt, shall be given, if feasible, before a shot is fired.
(2) Warning shots shall not be fired.
You notice that parking spot disputes aren’t listed in the above for deadly force.
Gary says
And yet we see “highly “trained police officers use deadly force when not necessary all the time.
Mack says
Yet another “princess” that can’t handle rejection well.
Theresa Mellen says
Or just an anti-social nutcase. I’ve been driving truck 18 years and haven’t met any women who have a “princess” complex. This can be a grueling, stressful profession for men and women that a princess could not tolerate.
Mali says
Some could argue, that anyone who will work otr to support their family is a nutcase…
Carolyn Lamell says
If you don’t think you can handle the pressure of truck driving don’t get out there and endanger someone else life. It takes a strong person to drive a semi. I’ve rode with my husband and i appreciate the truckers and their dedication but no amount of money you could pay me to drive a truck. It takes alot of patience. And if you can’t handle it don’t get behind the wheel. You don’t just have your life to watch for but others to. I want to say one thing thank you to the truckers and their families for your job.
Julia Vann says
Right on, as a mother and sister of truckers. Totally agree
Theresa Mellen says
You stated that she was acting like a man. What? Because she acted like a lunatic for firing a weapon in public over being schooled about her parking job? Is that your perception of what makes a man? Do you think all women driving truck are lesbians? Typical misogynistic, homophobic thought process. You are an embarrassment to your gender. Thank GOD there are real men still driving truck that don’t share your false perceptions.
Pete Maranell says
She ll probably loose her cdl,it illegal to carry a weapon in a commercial vehicle, intrastate, an interstate,a knife of a certain length is also,I believe 4.5 inches,no resciprocity in the trucking industry, I’m pro gun,but this should be a lesson to truckers
Carl says
Well, I hate to break the news to you but, it is legal to carry a firearm in a commercial vehicle if you are licensed and your home state has reciprocity.
Pamela says
No, it not illegal to carry a handgun in a commercial vehicle with a CCP, not in the regulations. It’s usually with the company that is against carrying. The whole story hasn’t been revealed, yet she has been condemned, hung and buried. Stop assuming what happened, get facts first.
Mali says
Look at the big brain on Pamela….lol correct, so the best I can do is shoot you a dirty look, cause my company is one of those companies 😖 I guess in a pinch I could defend myself with fish sauce and a hungry pussssssssyyyyy (cat)
Ken Henderson says
There is no law stating you can’t have a gun in a commercial vehicle…just state laws…look it up…blew my mind too
Barbara Wecker says
Nebraska State patrol took my firearm after searching thru my truck.confiscated the gun,all my knives,(I had some collector fantasy blades still in boxes) and then arrested me n took me to jail in Fremont,Ne.So,tell me again how legal you can do all these grand things. I call be. BTW,the judge told them they had to give everything back they never have to this day.
MrYowler says
She’ll claim that she felt threatened, and believed that she was defending herself, and get off with a slap on the hand. Then she’ll get an order of protection against the other driver, get priority placement in subsidized public housing, claim that the incident traumatized her so that she can no longer work, and get Social Security disability for the rest of her life.
If a guy had done it, he’d go straight to prison.
Some people are more equal than others.
Theresa Mellen says
She She She… Irresponsible, psychopathic behavior without a doubt. I think men have the market cornered on violent behavior and mass murder. Let’s just call it what it is. People are walking around in this country for years,.angry and taking it out on innocent citizens. I seriously doubt she gets a slap on the hand. She is a murderer waiting to happen. If she gets very little consequences for this, blame our judicial system.
Beverly says
This comment gave me a chuckle 🤦♀️

Cant believe the comments. SMH. Then again, Americans have always refused to address its historical embrace of violence and its overly aggressive psychology. The steady return to its “gunslinger” days, are like a visit in time. Concealed carry and stand your ground. SMH.
Theresa Mellen says
Absolutely agree Charles. There’s no arguing with the misinformed.
John silveira says
Definitely agree… we should not feed those who love being ignorant and hypocrites, some should stay away from comenting something
Pamela McSwain says
I,happen to be a female driver, I am not lesbian, nor do I want to be a man, just want to make, somewhat of a decent living!!.
Pamela McSwain says
OH and Yes, I, happen to be a black female, and we are not all Crazy, unless.threatened.or attacked in some way… Some people.out here.seem to think that they.can say or do anything to female.drivers, but,.. I don’t tolerate garbage either, but, Will Not,pull a weapon, unless absolutely,a Must!.
Preston says
I am shocked and embarrassed to be a trucker. 26 years of this mess and all of us on this subject for the most have left out one very valuable point.
We live in a world now where we hardly speak to each other, the brotherhood of truckers have lost its unity, all these young cats come out here and act like they know it all, then the new ELD mess….guys first we all know that parking is horrible, none of us know what is really meant by this other driver being parked illegally and what gave the other driver the right approach the driver anyway, why could he have not contacted an employee of Loves?
Secondly I dont know the accused sexual preference but I would like to believe that A MAN would approach A WOMAN in a sensible way. But again in this society everybody is suspect and we all have our prejudices but….it is a shame that this is not a typical 9-5 and each load is different, each drivers hours are different. And for any ONE driver to suggest what another should do is crazy. As I travel I see all these no truck parking signs yet we have to deliver to them. Truckers are forced to use on and off Ramps to sleep when there is a huge supermarket at the bottom of the hill.
We need to get it together and quick!!! Freight is super low, fuel sky high and the foolishness among us out here is heartbreaking…this used to be such a joy now it’s just a job and my 26 years have made me wish I went to medical school lol I love all my brothers and sister out here yall be safe.
Sara says
So she should shoot at the truck stop employee instead? Perhaps her truck was poking out a bit too much. Maybe he was being nice about asking her to move. In any case she found a reason to shoot doubt she had a gun permit. She certainly was lucky enough not to hit him or fuel pumps or trucks whatever her tantrum was unjust.
Milton says
Funny how it turned to lesbian, princess remarks. I’ve seen more of you guys wearing dresses, skirts than I have the women. I’ve seen more of you guys acting like princess’s than the women. Not sure why she felt the need to pull a gun and shoot, but there is always more to the story than we get to see.
Theresa Mellen says
So true Milton. I never understood the concept of being stereotyped as a lesbian because I drive truck, especially by other truck driving men. You’d think that live and let live is a good slogan to live by, which I do. Way too much hate out here now driving truck. No comradery to speak of amongst truckers. No one on the CB anymore. I had to turn mine off a few years ago due to the horrible things said to me regularly and remarks I overheard said to other drivers about race. Too much hate to bear. I use the CB in winter only. Even then when roads are bad, it’s difficult to get a road report. It’s shameful to see drivers posting videos that are filming other drivers inexperience to poke fun at them and humiliate them. They sit, watch and film new drivers backing into other drivers, amused by others misfortunes. Why not get off their butts and lend a hand to a fellow driver no matter how new a driver, if they are struggling, help them out. It’s a sad thing.
Robert Michalscheck says
They are putting too many idiots behind the wheel, and idiots make all truckers look like idiots!I could name examples but theres too many daily instances,it would be too many volumes, people can’t wash off stupid,it’s like a plague anymore, they need to pull their head out for oxygen, maybe they could think better.
Spyder says
Amen
William says
And this is Exactly how the company’s are able to Short Change drivers, Ive said for years We need to stick Together!!!!
TJ says
We all had to learn at some point.. I’ve been driving trucks for 22 years and I’m so beyond disgusted by what I see out here now..drivers who will wiggle their trailer or try to force you off the road because they can’t run fast enough to safely pass you..use to , you knew to expect attitudes from “4 wheelers” you at least had courtesy from other truckers, but not anymore.. it’s a sad state of things these days
Jason says
And here we have a female driver by the name of Theresa, who is a better trucker than half of the men out here. Take a lesson from this lady.
John silveira says
Lol well said brother
Kristi says
I drove semi quite a few years ago and remember parking was an issue in the east. There were never enough spaces unless you could get off the road early and too many states were not semi friendly; I.e. no parking over 2 hours, no idling. I, however, see no reason for anyone, male or female, to carry a weapon and that much ready ammo. If you are that afraid find another profession or learn to park properly. It would be interesting to know how she was parked and was she in the road. I am retired and travel often. Sadly,I see more bad drivers on the road as the years go by.
Carl says
40 years on the road and fear is not the reason I carry a weapon. It’s called being prepared.
George L Coleman says
Lock her up throw away the key innocent people could have been hit. She should get life for stupidity the new breed
Mali says
George, really… that is not how criminal justice works in Amerika… First you have to get assigned a court appointed lawyer, no dump truck and get judged by twelve retired, unemployed, or to stupid to get out of jury duty peers, who of course don’t resemble you as a peer.
Jay says
We have a driver shortage. More drivers means more trucks. Equals less parking spots and more shootings. Keep hiring so you can lower rates.
B. G. says
Well….all her clocks will reset and she’ll be ready to roll in 5 to 8 years.
Jason says
All the drivers crying about the parking problem need to look in the mirror!!!! Because trucks are not allowed to park anywhere like shopping centers or grocery stores or even at Walmarts anymore because drivers today are scum of the earth and dump there trash and sh@t and pi#s all over the parking lots and I dont blame property owners for not wanting trucks parked on there property anymore!!!
Theresa Mellen says
So true Jason. Yes we live in trucks but there are ways to properly dispose of waste. What if the general public disposed of their waste in the same manner. Could you imagine? Gross.
Robbie says
The thing is people in general about care about one another, or the environment. So that makes our job that much harder. We are at the bottom if the work pool yet we keep this country going. It’ll only continue.
William says

Sara says
General or not the public dumps household trash in business dumpsters and sides of roads parking lots your house. Not to mention animals and that’s much worse. Some think that if they pay to park they have a right to dump trash not in the trash can either. Cameras need to be on those spaces so the owner can deny the guilty ones parking there ever again.
Robert Michalscheck says
Well said
David FERRIS says
Very true Jason
Jeffrey says
Truckers that park anywhere they want are the problem. Blocking trucks from getting out. No consideration for other truckers. It’s bad.
Jason Wells says
DRIVING 15 YEARS AND YES THERE’S MORE TRUCKS EQUALS LESS PARKING. IF YOUR NOT PARKED BY 1PM ITS SLIM PICKENS.
Greg says
There is obviously more to the story than is printed for our eyes and it is yet another story making print lately causing awareness to peak; rightly so! Not everyone that carries a weapon should have one and I think this case provides some type of evidence to the statement; just because you have the right does not mean you should, especially if you are irresponsible on so many levels that your actions are classified as terroristic. Think about that for the moment; whatever statute or law she broke, her actions or reactions were so aggregious that the jurisdiction brought a charge of “terroristic threats” against her—hotheaded, untrained and irresponsible. There is more to the story but we may never know unless we look the case up in the jurisdiction where the incident/event occurred. How many times before this case, over the many years of the transportation industry, has something like this happened? If you carry, stay proficient and always be aware of your environment. Most importantly, you can see, hear, feel and smell trouble so, go in the opposite direction of trouble and let law enforcement handle the trouble. If you have to use, it is a last resort to save your life or the life of another. The burden of proof for self-defense is not as easy as it seems or appears; know the law and be responsible.
Dan says
8 rounds fired and she hit nothing? Either she is auditioning for a TV show or she should switch to a stick and not a very big one either..
Theresa Mellen says
She deserves a stick spanking for what she did. I wonder how harsh the Pennsylvania court system will be on her. I don’t want that level of lunacy back out on the streets.
Gentry Coleman says
I’ve been driving for 28 years long before there was a such thing as the ‘FMCSA’ I believe they and private businesses should be part of the blame in the sense that there should be more parking spaces and “safe havens ” for truck drivers around the country and far as all the hate toward one another I agree we should be showing love and respect for each other being that we don’t get enough love and respect from the public as it is we have enough to deal with already with all the rules and regulations imposed upon us we are a brotherhood incase we forgot
Bad Habit says
if people would learn the rules of driving and proper ways to park legally it would be great …but when you put all them TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL IDIOTS that have no experience what do you expect …I hope she goes to prison for a long long time …..
Ricky Hinkle says
I agree
John silveira says
That is a sad comment…very sad
Shawn Norris says
There’s not enough info for anyone to be making any comments?
Because if you have been out here more than a minute.
(that meaning years)
We have all fallen short of the right thing to do? But shooting @ someone you better have a good reason for it?!
Not someone said something to me so now I’m going to shoot them?!
The way it sounds is she felt threatened? I do hope that’s her case
(Because if not then she’s a coko)
But if this guy was just saying something about her parking choice.
She got angry with him and he made no life threatening statements to her are attempted to enter her home?
Then she is way out of line!
But if he was coming @ her theating her are trying to enter her home?
Then she has every right to defend herself and her property!?
?(BUT)? it sounds to me like she made a bad choice?
I do not know I was not in her shoes?
Like I said the info is very vague?
John silveira says
Right on brother… most of those people here are just speculators, fake news makers.. ignorantly talking about something that this media says.
a, alexander says
your correct , and the media , makes it way more to get you all rieled up but i agree with you
Rodney says
I drive a big No and I can park anywhere there is a sign, No Parking…
Kelly says
Lmfao, that is good, Rodney. Your logic is great as well as humorous! Stay safe and smart brother.
Phillip Cunningham says
I agree to much hate where’s the love and kindness to to help one another.Every time when something happens and read the comments 89% of them are pure nonsense. Now as for I don’t keep negative vibes in my circle I been driving trucks for 6 years now and believe me I see a lot of horrible people that can’t drive safely can’t talk to people with respect and in my opinion is getting worse.
Nate Green says
It’s not just the trucker life it’s the world as a whole has gone down the drain.
Flatheader says
8 shots and didnt hit anything she should be in the next die hard film. I dont tell anyone how to do their job 2 many loose cannons out here cant handle the pressure of the job.
Elvis Sinanovic says
Lets all not work on 4/12/19

What is simple assault??
Deborah McCorkle says
Safe parking? Where?
Angel says
We need to force dot,to make more rest areas across country, minimun 300 spaces per rest area, need 20 to 30 rest areas per state we are paying too much taxes fuel taxes, hightway used tax, what up with that!! If you want be in bussines of truck stop, the state have to have a code or rule to make the truck stop to build spaces for trucks. Some of this places they got more fuel island then parking spaces really!!
Marcus says
I’ve stopped at this Love’s many, many times.. parking is pretty bad there and trucks staying too long in the fuel line can cause a backup. I usually move down the road to the Pilot. I don’t get drawing a gun and firing shots though.
Tito Joseph says
Why would you carry a gun in the truck.? It is illegal to have a gun in the truck. Yes some people argue that you have a concealed carry permit but try to explain that to a state like New Jersey when they put you in jail.. I used to carry in the early part of my career but not anymore because of the laws. Anyway I hate running in the Northeast because if I have to shut down early in the evening I know I am not finding a parking spot after 8 pm.
Betty says
Male or female straight or not there should be respect for other people in all area’s just be kind to others.
Kevin Chevalier says
This is what happens when to many people are forced to use the same
facilities the choice is limited the wait time gets longer and the consideration
gets shorter, some people are lazy disrespectful and don’t care about others
but they sure don’t like it when it’s them doing the waiting, to pull a gun on
someone over this is stupid but it’s only gonna get worse
Dell says
Yea they definitely need to revoke her cdl forever. We dont need this at any truck stop in America. She is not a trucker
James Bowman says
He probably addressed her with the incorrect pronouns and she was triggered. No pun intended. Bahahahaha!!!
chris says
don’t forget drivers throw trash and poo on the ground.so who wants that on their property.
David Deer says
Did they say her last name was Eastwood. Oh never mind he always hit his target!
Pamela McSwain says
I,happen to be a female driver, I am not lesbian, nor do I want to be a man, just want to make, somewhat of a decent living!!.
She Trucker says
Widen the on/off ramps – wide enough to allow a safe space for trucks to park. Add a couple of trash barrels (if the barrels are there, most people will use them). When building/resurfacing highways, add truck pull-offs and trash barrels.
Yep. Someone has to maintain these… more jobs for folks who need them.
Kenneth Mckinnon says
Should have given her a parking ticket, too. 😀
Captain Kirk says
If she had killed the guy it would have been legal. Don’t pull iron unless you kill. That is the golden rule. The only thing you can legally do with a gun is kill. Anything else, threatening, brandishing, improper storage, is illegal.
Wendall Barnes says
It’s a good thing the Taurus 9mm is a crapy excuse for a hand gun. Don’t see how anyone could hit the broad side of a barn with it.
Mrs. C says
I know I risk drivers cursing me out but it pains me that one of my 1st thoughts were she must be black because of all the charges….. Throw something at her and let’s see what sticks! Now I’m not saying I don’t agree that she shouldn’t get arrested if she was wrong but this story sounds like there is more to it because who does all that shooting if they don’t feel threatened?!? So all you self-righteous, I’ve never gotten mad, never did anything wrong, and never made a bad decision drivers don’t jump on my back. I just would like to know the WHOLE story! I’m just saying I’m a woman driver and I used to drive solo for years and my experience with men drivers were either trying to sex me up or act aggressively like you’re not a factor. Either way I would handle accordingly and most of the time when you show a person their ignorance then there will be a resolve to the issue, but that doesn’t work for ALL people.
I did have to mace a driver because he was irate because I couldn’t pull up because there was another driver in front of me in the fuel island. Even after he saw that I couldn’t pull up he still was acting aggressive in his truck like hollering in my direction, spitting all on his glass. I honestly thought it was funny because it was 9-10 am what could you possibly be that mad about, they day had just begun?!? So when it was my turn to fuel I was preparing the pump he parked behind me and got out and was yelling from a distance which was fine as long as you’re not in my space or face. As he kept yelling he wanted me to respond but I wouldn’t but he started to walk closer and I told him to not come closer. Once he was an arm length away I sprayed his a$$ like he was a bug!! 😂😂😂 At this point other drivers were involved telling him to just go and after ALL that he had the nerve to call the police on me?!?! The police came and then laughed him all the way back to his truck but it didn’t go unnoticed by me that after we told our stories the officer was leaning towards believing him. I had to tell the cop to ask the other drivers and they pull the security tape from the truck stop before he believed me. So I understand that could’ve went wrong for me for just protecting myself.
Ricky Hinkle says
I’m not defending her but you start Problems with people you never know drive your truck and let them drive their truck. Just saying
Dell says
So she just couldn’t move her truck???now ahe gonna miss time at work to go to court and jail. Sheesh. Hustlin backwards.smdh
Chris says
And you’re not black..and you just pulled it! So no big deal right?
Bill says
Definitely more to this story than being reported. Question the narrative because the report does not fit the list of charges. “terroristic threats”? Over a parking spot? Sounds like the cops are seriously reaching on this one. 8 rounds fired…. I think she missed on purpose. I can see a bully truck driver doing the cowboy tap dance in the parking lot for his trouble. This profession has lost its shivery. Used to be a time when we did what ever we could to help each other, not act like buffoons. IMO, one driver started something he didn’t need to in the manner he did. updates should be interesting none the less.
Hit-N-Run says
No jokes about women can’t shoot
Not permitted
No way
Ain’t gonna do it
Nope
Not
Just walkin on by….
Andrew Fernandez says
All i know is when youve been on the road all day or night youve dealt with long loading and unloading somedays you just want to rest. But why at a loves guys cant you take the violence to a TA or a pilot ??
Carlo says
I always said this is why we are not allowed to carry guns…. Because it would be like the old wild West, all the trucker’s out there would be shooting one another
Lester Blair says
There’s more to the story than that, bet you 5 dollar’s to a donut he said something to her and she took offense and she cracked his butt i’am a driver and you have to mind your business out there if you don’t the Same thing can happen to you
Josh says
It says they argued so before jumping on board with the comments about her “anger issues” or other condemning statement. maybe in the course of the argument he threatened her life and came at her and she shot in self defense. If that’s the case and she can prove it then she’s innocent and the other driver should and likely will be charged
Gwin says
Well, that was a pretty ignorant comment, William. I’m a lesbian and a trucker and I can guarantee you I don’t “act like a man”. If acting “like a man” is tantamount to behaving like a spoiled little boy, throwing petulant tantrums and reverting to violence whenever I don’t get my self-entitled way.
D. Hendricks says
I read comments like these and wonder in all your 2 years of driving has it been that cut b.c and dry ! Each and every load is different .
Aj says
Damn i live by and use that truck stop a lot.
Gina says
Pennsylvania s police are to blàme too. They give you a ticket for parking on an on ramp.they harass drivers who are really sleepy and need a short break !Pennsylvania and new jersey are the rudest places to drive a truck.New York is stupid.and rude.I just don’t go up there.not at all! The dot needs to make it mandatory to have truck stops within 20 miles of any city.
Optimus says
I made a carrier change at 60 for trucking. Finding out how the good bad and ugly works. I let the lord handle things I can’t and the law the rest. I still may not come out alive in any moment but at least I can say life is too short for biased opinions on partial information. I hope that there’s still hope for us all when there’s no viable solutions or deterrents that don’t lead to exacerbating the violence.
Coleman Atkinson says
It is a shame that all truckers deliver food, equipment, dry goods, building material, etc. And the world has no more respect for a truck or truck driver than what we see on the road, and at the truck stops these days! All roads and bridges that we travel are in need of major repair.
Philo says
True statement about parking. It’s a business now for truck stops to increase their revenue at driver’s expense. Its not enough to over price every item in the store and restaurants it’s also time to start making drivers pay for safe parking. I understand the cost of maintaining a parking area, that’s why we pay for the over priced items in the restaurant, stores, and fuel islands. Now we’ll have to pay for parking too! When will America wake up and pay the people bringing the goods a decent wage and a little respect?
Mack says
C’mon! My “princess” remark was an off the cuff, funny shot at princesses, not at female truck drivers! Princesses are in all walks of life and in no way did I even attempt to demean our hard working, tough as nails truckin sisters. I have respect for all good, hard working people, no matter their creed, colour or sex. Of course we don’t know the whole story. Maybe she had the worst day of her life. Maybe she was pushed around by her father, than her man, then a DOT officer, a shipper, and maybe, just maybe this guy giving her grief was a real a hole about it abd pushed her over the limit. Maybe she snapped. But it is also fair to make any comment, even poke fun at, based on the little info we got. Nothing wrong with that. Loosen up. Life is hard enough as it is.
shaun j burke says
a particularly repeating comment …that some people should not be allowed firearms, is so far out in left field …that it is moronic.
Every CITIZEN should be armed,
without restriction. Too far out in right field for you ? Then go to Venezuela.
Choice of livlihood is no negation to DUTY of citizenry.
Stephen Wayne Vanderzwart says
I find it hard to believe she fired a gun that many times and missed. I wish I could know what the other driver was saying to her. A follow up story would be awesome. Interview both drivers. Something is missing here. As for the parking issue. I’m fighting a trespass in KC for pulling off the road into a parking lot for trucks . It’s cheaper to park in a no parking zone on the street.
Fatman says
Bet him want play parking lot police no more 😂.
James Kiesel says
I’ve seen some states have taken away parking because of drivers throwing there trash on the ground. I’ve seen truck stops that closely resemble land fills
put your trash in a can where it belongs
Jmm says
30 yr old female trucker carrying a loaded gun, I guess there are women out there worse than my ex-wife, and I had just thought maybe a trucker wife would be a good idea! I am staying single and just date. Parking is terrible especially Pennsylvania they don’t accommodate us truckers like other states do, seriously especially that I-76 I think, cruel state and store owners don’t allow trucks to park overnight or any access. The old mom and pops stores are kinder and at least try to let us in.
Errol says
Finding parking at truck stops has only become a problem since the mandate on having an electronic log device in every truck, and a lot of drivers don’t know or have the ability to manage their time properly. So due to the inability to do this we have a mad rush and convergence of trucks on the truck stops. How can it be explained how a truck stop is filled to capacity at 1600 hours. What are we doing as drivers can someone explain!
Jarred says
There are always people who comment about truckers who don’t have a cdl. Company office PARROT Brains who know nothing about the road. They always want to dum drivers down because want our money and don’t want to put in work like us drivers. U have no idea how dangerous otr is cowered.
Joe says
He shoulda beat the snot outta her when she was done.
Mike says
Why did the police not charge her with having a weapon in a commercial vehical. Nobody mentions that. It is a lifetime federal suspension of cdl for having a weapon in a commercial vehicle even if you dont use it.
PLASE MOORE says
Simply put, when you allow a trucker, under constant pressure from the general public, dispatch, e-log, and trying to find safe parking, to carry a loaded weapon in the cab of a commercial 80,000 pound vehicle, you just unleased hell in a rolling missile. No hand guns in a commercial vehicle ever!! Rightfully so, she should go to prison for a very long time, and never be allowed to drive in trucking ever. Until the country addresses, the proper pay grades, better than average health insurance, decent and healthy foods, This country is going to throw it all away, and your looking at the top of the nations heart beat, slowly suffer, and exploding in a puff of black smoke.
Barbara Wecker says
Good thing they left my hammer in the truck. That would be my weapon of choice if I ever felt the need for one. It becomes deadly when used for self-defense….just sayin’
Royce says
As nasty as we are all getting out there I would have shot at him too. If it’s illegal call a cop. Otherwise leave me alone. Are you a cop or a truck driver? You don’t get to be both. Snitches get stitches. Truck drivers are feeling the stress of the clock. The situation with log books is unacceptable. Warner didn’t pioneer electronic logs. They were forced to accept them 20 plus years ago or lose their athority. They have killed way alot of people over the decades. A fair amount of my day is spent verifying and reverifying that I am not breaking the law. Again, are these corporations going to be policemen or trucking companies because they cannot successfully be both. All drivers pro or otherwise are losing their minds out there. It’s curious that as laws get tighter and terrorist threats are allegedly everywhere that enforcement is at an all time high and the overall death rate in all transportation is double and triple what it was in the late 80s. When will big brother concede that CDLs are just a federal money grab that emasculates state government? Probably never. And the death toll keeps rising. The red tape in transportation is ridiculous. 70-to 80 mile an hour speed limits are insane. Our government is basically collapsing all around us. It’s kind of the wild west out there. Good luck drivers. Welcome to crazy land.
L.A. Draper says
She sounds crazy. Glad she’s in custody. The lesson is, don’t get involved with someone who is parking improperly. That’s the manager’s job.
Boots says
What a crock! Shouldn’t have a gun in the truck first place.im single female, good-looking, live in my truck !I drive whatever hours are required to get load there on time still have time for rest. You Dont have to sleep at a truck stop.jeez there’s all kinds of places to park.you just have to be creative.quit being scared of the world be nice and things will work out for yea.
Some people are crazy.we are a bunch of antisocial bunch any way add all our past luggage and man I man.good lord just going threw orientation wants to make shoot someone.peace peeps
JAMES COOPER says
I work out here in the West Texas oilfield area and all of the local drivers park at the truck stops when they are working and they leave their personal vehicles in the same parking spot holding up the parking spot until they finish, this is not right for OVER THE ROAD drivers who can’t find a parking place when it’s time for their break, I wish someone would look into this problem for the OTR drivers at the truck stops
Sara says
Sounds like she’s a very bad shooter and just why was she so gun ho to kill the poor guy . I guess she found out she can’t have it her way. She’s in a safe place now.
Sara says
I’m safe I have rock salt and a sling shot and a handful of frozen jelly beans did I mention the Nerf balls?
Sara says
For the driver with the long days or nights you haven’t driven 40 years like me . And if we park in ramps trucks or vehicles run into us it’s unsafe. And shooting because you are tired isn’t a reason parking anywhere gives no reason to shoot she was arrested because she was wrong in her actions . There is no reason to shoot at anyone unless your shot at or attacked . You don’t have long hours driving anymore we old drivers did that for you. Trust me you have it made today.
Sara says
Let’s see there was plenty of parking before our driving hours were cut before ELDS came along. We didn’t sit with our loads. We simply kept moving. And kept our logs up.
Sara says
Dammit I plum forgot about my tire thumper bat and that steel release bar handle. I spent many years as a single driver. I never did have a co- driver. I agree some men do get way out of line with women. But I never shot one. I may have accidentally hit them up side the head with my thumper or release bar but that was then . They never bothered me again. My long wavy blonde hair and blue eyes didn’t mean I’m stupid . My sign is Scorpio. My sting is worse. I’d rather torment them then shoot them.
Andrew says
You don’t have parking because nobody cares about you look at the manner in which you dress look at the manner in which you hold yourself look at your personal hygiene some of you look worse than a homeless person from Miami that’s why you’re treated in the manner you are nobody looks at you people with any respect that’s why you’re treated the Way You Are
Andrew says
Old truck drivers could you please possibly take a shower every other day I noticed that many of you have poor hygiene will have to stand behind you in a line you smell worse than a sewer treatment plant also I was wondering if you drivers could stop wearing homeless clothes you make a decent enough paycheck where you can buy a pair of pants that goes down to your ankles and a pair of shorts that are above your knees stop wearing your PJs and sandals and wife beater t-shirts and t-shirts that have propane writing on them clean yourselves up truck drivers you are nasty looking some of the nastiest subhumans I’ve ever met in my life and I don’t meet many of you also what’s with the I’m fat and overweight look stop eating all that greasy fatty food drink water and carrot sticks and do a little exercise more than just pulling your fat ass out of the rack or pulling yourself up with your truck okay have a good day take care you fat overweight out-of-shape stinky smelly tent wearing things
Sara says
Did I hear you say showers are free at truck stops? Only if you have a card fuel up buy tons of crap for shower points. Not all drivers shop where you do. I pay $18 at pilot in CA. A bit less at Petro. By the way you got an extra free shower ticket driver? Or is that reserved for lot lizards?
Sara says
Dear Andrew you say your giving us old truckers your shower tickets. We plum used ours up showering everyday . I just ran out you offering a free shower ticket? You been saving them up for a rainy day ?I know your concerned about old drivers so could you buy me a daily years worth of shower tickets? I might not find parking so I can shower could you leave the truck stop so I can park? Oh, and could you not stand by us old drivers in line. We’ve been busy working hard so we can buy our shower ticket. And at our Old Driver age we deserve our service first Kid
Snowflake says
Doubt that driver A ever questions someone’s parking again.. And driver B quick draw ever can legally own a firearm or drive a commercial vehicle again.

Parking parking parking, funny no one mentioned that even at some of the places we pick up or unload the only parking is when you bump the dock. If it helps, google earth and the phone is a godsend.I look at where I will need to be, then work my way out looking for any large areas to park, with google you can do street view, read the signs then call to see if they will let you park, make sure you can get from there to where you need to be legally. Businesses for sale, lowes ,home depot and walmarts are good to check. every place has a phone, often even if I can’t stay overnite they will let me park for a few hours, always thank them, keep a journal – record the address the phone number and who you spoke to, even if you don’t return to the same exact place you may need the parking to deliver elswhere. there are books and also hundreds of apps for parking. best rule of thumb use the truck stops for showers and fuel and plan on sleeping elsewhere, parking does suck and it’s only going to get worse. I have always said some of the worst people out here sadly are the other truck drivers, we are all tired and angry at some point and we the drivers get shit on more than any one else, such actions are inexcusable they should be removed permanently from this profession

I hear ya sister i’ve been a paid solo driver for 37 years it dam sure ain’t like the old days, we used to stick together minde each others backs now it’s all
about me myself and I, you can tell the older drivers from the newer ones,
I don’t have a problem E-logs had no problem transitioning into the electronic
age, i’ve seen that black dog more than once pushing hard to make it work the
older drivers know what i’m talking about fudging your book or carrying an
extra one for the man it seem like things were easier but they weren’t couldn’t
tell you how many cigarette burns I had parking wasn’t as bad fueling not near
the wait people had a lil more courtesy a thing of the past the norm now is to
take what you can from whomever you can.

So right ,once when I draped me self over the steering wheel taking a snooze, It was hot weather had windows down some
I forgot all about that bee truck . They love to swarm the hive boxes. They also loved my new flower scented air freshener and my body spray. Guess you know how my short lived nap went?
Joseph Rister says
Maybe something should be done about all the double parking, I’m tired of drivers blocking people in. You can’t even get into a rest area at night because of it.

Maybe the truck stops need a meter maid. Why oh why do some truckers need two spots. Must be having a bad cone day. I’m thinking I’d make more money at class A towing. I’m certain there’s a big yard for those double spot Parker’s.

Parking is hard in the Northeast. As drivers we have to take care of each other.

The only thing I’d need a gun for is survival food if the trucking companies keep getting pounded on we may be out of work. I’m going to take my Daisy next trip . I’ll be careful not to shoot my eye out. It’s a little rusty but I think some fifth wheel grease will handle that
Roland Myree says
It’s a shame people are so quick to pull out a gun over anything makes no sense to me, I drive both day and night, I just plan on parking early or stop early enough to find parking
