The last sentence of your post sums it up. Until that changes, nothing else will.

I've been at Swift for over 9 years, and I maxed out on vacation time many years ago. So what are you talking about with that?

As for the rest - buy your own truck and run under your own authority so you can do what you want.

    Whine, whine, whine whine whine.
If you don't like it, be one of the turnovers.

Man, welcome to trucking. It's all the same no matter where you go. All companies seem to have ridiculous turnover. Not just Knight-Swift. Companies can give drivers all of the above and the turnover will still be high. Once the psychological part of trucking starts to get to many rookies, they are out. Let them stay out a Christmas, they'll be so depressed it won't be right and they'll quit trucking altogether.

Yes but it’s all in the cost of producing it and it’s still cheaper to produce it over there and ship it over here!! Regulations and labor costs!

Well u got to go where the freight goes. Its no easier getting home as an owner op if u live in a bad area. U have to keep stuff like that in mind. It is a business. And although it sucks as a driver , i can gurantee u they do the best they can. They have 20k drivers to look after. I started my career with swift and they was good to me , but there is much better opportunities out there if u look for them. Smaller companies generally take better care of u but if u live in a bad freight area it will always be hard to get home no matter which company u work for

Umm, they don't want to reduce the turnover over rate.
They like cheap and most importantly inexperienced
Drivers that they can bully around because they don't
    Know any better.
They think that's the way it is.

If fact, they don't want a 10 veteran to even apply
For a job. They know he or she won't put up with
    The stupidity.
They've got 50 years experience dealing with drivers.
They know exactly what their doing.

They want you to work for them a year or two,
Them move on to someplace else because now
You've figured this trucking thing out and will
    Want more money.
    They served there purpose.

Once you grow a backbone and start to stand up
For yourself, there gonna get rid of you anyway.

talk to a few drivers that been here with swift 10 plus years.
guy a relay with been here 18 yrs.
talk to another who been here 25 yrs.
don't know the number but you be surprise how many drivers been here 5 yrs or more.
I never had an issue getting home.
the again I kept on top of it and would refuse any loads that didn't get me home intime.
gotta have the cajones to refuse a load.
if you want to fuel where you want... go buy you own truck.

Swift-Knight is sitting pretty on .20 a mile drivers. Hundreds quit, hundreds more in orientations.

Garbage in garbage out literally. They continue to rake in the billions.

NOW. If for some miracle 9 million company truckers absolutely refuse to join swift or anyone paying low wages leaving maybe a few dozen veterans trying to carry a company while they go out of business, we would have nothing at all. For the sake of 1.00 a mile.

Just like the child labors in the textile mills or the endless peice work times of the 1800's (One of my ancestors was a home based pants maker on peice work... we had her machine somewhere. Worn out but still useable from about the 1850's) Or the sweatshops.

    Nothing will change anytime soon.
