I am going to defend Crete here. If you have a legitimate reason to go out of route, or fuel elsewhere, communicate the need to your asset manager. Get a new fuel routing, and avoid that construction / rush hour traffic. When I was a company driver, I changed about 20% of my fuel stops.

    Spoke too soon.

Gives you drive time, but if duty time is less, you're into your drives anyway, so why bother showing a larger number for drive time?

    Junk.

If only there was some sort of machine that could do math...

It would definitely be frustrating to get a load assignment with the wrong address... especially when you have to wait to send in an empty call after your unloaded to get the next load assignment...so much for trip planning. ...and why in the world do they not have the trucks governed to at least run the speed limit on most interstates...70 mph?

I can just imagine that having to negotiate with office buffoons daily to get fuel where I want to stop instead of where a Microsoft or similar product decides that it wants me to stop would be a total waste of my time every single day and for no reason at all other than idiocy.

Maybe I know that one truck stops has 5 fuel islands, 3 ####ters, and 5 showers that are always blocked by idiots, or cleaned by crack heads, and another 15 miles down the road has 12 fuel islands, 2 restrooms with 10 total ####ters, and 18 showers that are available 24/7. Does Crete's software micromanagement system have any idea that there is a difference?

And who do you call on Saturday or Sunday? At my company the people that we are supposed to call on the weekend have no clue about anything and are given no power to make any decisions. I don't even bother to call them anymore.

Ah. I never asked permission to change fuel stops. I politely told them why I wasn't using the routing supplied, and told them what town I wanted to fuel in/near. I couldn't make them give me a specific fuel stop, but I could get something along the route.

Crete has after hours asset managers. Your designated asset manager probably won't be there, and it might take a few minutes on the phone to get someone if they are fielding a bunch of calls, but someone's there.

Remember this. Corporate fuel stops are prioritized by price. Horrible hellhole truckstops need to attract trucks to fuel there, and they generally do it with discounts or lower prices than nice truck stops.

So, yes, Crete will route you to some pretty ugly and annoying major name truck stops (though rarely any truly terrible places) because they make the choice of stops based on their fuel costs.

Make that 75 in Arkansas After July or June 20th this year. We forced the issue through at the Ballot like 6 years ago. They dragged their heels. Rural roads between towns will be 65 which IS a LITTLE fast for my taste in a big rig. But since everyone is already there speed wise... *Shrugs.

I already know my tahoe will be in the way at 70 already. She is not a speed demon. Not with that third 350 in her. #### thing tips 8000 pounds loaded.

Some if this applies to my company (Millis) as well. Bad addresses, bad directions. I don't know how much time I've wasted trying to find the right address to put in my GPS and double checking on Google maps to see if indeed there are docks, a truck entrance, heck even a road that leads to it. Case in point, today I have a load going to Cold Spring Brewing in St Cloud, MN. Address I receive: 6401 8th Ave Ste D...well that doesn't fly with the gps. Google shows that the ste means suite. Why do I care the suite number...it ends up being the same building, which when looking a Google satellite appears to only be a headquarters...I can't see any docks, trailers, or discernable area for trucks to enter. So now I have to waste precious time (possibly causing late delivery with such a short lead time) figuring out where this load is actually supposed to go. I've been chewed out for being late or showing up at a wrong address by people on the ground. We only get what dispatch gives us. You are right. It needs to be cleaned up.

We also get those silly text boxes for yard moves (I just write the place now...what else is there to say? Do they think we are using it to crawl down to road at less than 20 mph?)

If I ever need to move a short distance I just use PC. Yard move counts as on duty anyway so you may as well use drive time if you are going to use that.

No by using on duty yard move you are saving your drive time. Using PC to move short distances is a great way to get a log violation if checked by DOT. Also great way at Millis to have our log department on our ###.
