Can't fire drivers as they're not employees. They can, however, terminate a contract.

I was on the way out the door right when they gave use the raises which made me stay. Now they have quite literally taken 13 of the 15 cents away they have given us in the past year. (10 cent raise, 5 cent market premium/holiday pay). It's literally a comparative drop back to 92 cpm...

To say "we're protecting your base rate and just taking it out on your surcharge" is really insulting. If they were going to tank it it should have just been 1.25 at 7mpg at least 4 cents is easier to swallow than 8 practically overnight.

Or at least give the driver's the full pfj rebate or switch to practical miles instead of short to compensate.

Going through that landstar seminar for their load board has me even more angry about all this.

I wonder if anyone in the offices are getting paycuts like all the drivers are?

    Jarhed1964 and scottied67 Thank this.

Doe site says fuel is 2.733. using the calculation projected fuel surcharge will be 17.6 cents...and I expect a round down to 17.

    Nothing across qc yet...

    Jarhed1964 and scottied67 Thank this.

The fact that JCT seems to have the need to save an estimated $7 million a year with this change in calculation has me concerned.

$7 million estimate based on 2018 miles in SAFER of 101 million * 7 cents a mile. ($0.07 since is the calculation change compared to last week's surcharge at last week's price)

Not including any cuts to pay OR bonuses that they may have done in the office.

I'm not trying to be chicken little here but I'm also trying not to be naive.
