To be honest, I kinda think bathroom hygiene is the least thing to worry about.
For all you know, that guy could have just used his bare hand to pick up the crap his dog with intestinal parasites left in the sleeper, or pulled a dead and bloody bird out of his grill before walking in and touching stuff. And this goes for anywhere, not just truck stops and rest areas. Shippers, receivers, walmarts, the fuel pump, everywhere you can touch something that has been touched by others.

I made my first post a couple weeks ago commenting on having my own TP and not sharing. Some of the comments were funny but now it has others rethinking it. After a few camping trips where the host ran out of paper I always have my own now. I bring my own hand towel into rest stops to wash and dry with. Yes I am a Germaphobic to an extreme level but I function in society better than Monk did so it is not that bad.

I hope society figures out how to behave better. I can see any apocalyptic event is going to be ugly so I pray we learn a little off each one of these little pandemics. Right now I am buying TP at a hardware store. Crazy but we also have wash cloths we can wash and reuse. They were supposed to be for the shop but lets see where this road takes us.

I kinda wish I had a vending trailer I could take thru truck stops just for coffee and sodas. No gouging just supporting the drivers out there. By June I will be driving and hope someone would do the same for me.

I've heard about folks being nasty. It's my hope that once things settle out a bit, folks will realize we're in this together and stories of selfishness will be rare.

One thing I liked about the rest areas in Germany there was always a person cleaning them. They had a little bowl for tips, don't think they were state employees. As soon as you'd been they would be in there cleaning. Super clean. Always smelled good. They were always cleaning. Toilets . Urinals and sink .

I've always had at least a roll in my truck. Never know when a rest area or potta potty will be out of it. Especially if you happen to visit after a tour bus stops.

Only thing now is the high likelyhood of panicers trying to steal it so now I have several rolls.

for sure the truckstops are called Autofoffs and mostly charge for parking good German cooked food no fast food that might be different and yes the washrooms were always spotless
