Also a good point. I always tell people who are applying for their own authorities and are doing so to get *more* time at home with the family that it is the wrong reason to be doing it. If your wheels aren't turning, your not earning

It really does boil down to money management more than anything. That’s true for everyone in every job or business.

Yeah I'd say 16k a year for commercial insurance is right about what you'd expect. As far as competitive quotes go, I know that Progressive is typically on the lower end of quotes. The main thing is just getting a number of quotes instead of one. I can't tell you the amount of times I've seen tens of thousand dollar differences on quotes for the exact same coverage

Well, if your truck needs $24,000 in repairs a year and $3,000 worth of oil and $6,000 in tires, you're driving a POS that needs an alignment job real bad and real soon. LOL

yeah, kinda off on your maintenance account. Some folks simply put away 'X' per mile in a separate account and deal with all of those issues out of that account.

With a truck payment that low, you are almost certainly buying a truck with a great deal of wear and tear on it. If you are doing ALL the labor yourself, you might squeak by on 2k maintenance per month. If the truck is NOT a DEF truck.

If it is a DEF truck, you better have the DEF system tested before you buy it, or you might be buying a new DEF system for 10k+ the week after you buy the truck.

I tried the lease thing for about two months.I got loads but after they took their 25% and fuel cost I might as well be a company driver. They had some of their own contracted loads but otherwise they ran off load boards.
