Perhaps They should have isolated 100% the older and most vulnerable people ASAP. And let everyone else practice safe interactions?

    ***Warning, long post***

My thoughts exactly. The sublime term "Boomer remover" confirms it.

We are now completing "Third generation indoctrination." My generation, cold war era & 1960's, was taught in school about the dangers of communism, communism is bad, reject and fight against it at all costs. Some teachers in those days were WW II & Korean war veterans. Some had son's fighting communists over in Vietnam.

Now, I'm not going to get into whether or not we should have been involved in Korea or Vietnam, but, for today's assignment, class, for those with an open mind, seek out veterans from those three wars and ask them their thoughts on communism and the current status of the U.S. and Canada and the direction we're currently headed.

You see, not overnight, but little by little, "Communism is bad" wasn't taught in schools or universities anymore. That stigmatized term was replaced with socialism, progressive, and liberal, but make no mistake, the ultimate goal is communism.

Most of the media and public schools today, along with most universities, are mostly filled with communist indoctrinated teachers that for years now have been pumping communist doctrine into heads of mush. Many parents (2nd gen) of today's youth also embrace & teach it. You see third generation indoctrination is almost complete.

You see, I love this great nation of ours, and it brings a tear to my eye to see where we are quickly heading. I'm afraid that once the currently despised "Boomers" are all gone, freedom as we now know it will also be gone, it'll be all over but the future crying. Right now, we're hanging on by a thread. Future oppressed generations will ask, "How did we allow the communist takeover to happen?" Well sonny, you have your parent(s), teachers, media, and government leaders to thank.

Off the soapbox, feel free to disagree, I'm ok with that. I've had a good life, no complaints. I gotta get back to work. Yeah, I still work....

I went to fort Jackson, SC in 1986. My thoughts have always been and always will be that Russia and China are the enemies. The sooner we destroy them the better :)

I think you're 100% spot on with that assessment. Make no mistake, I'm under 30 (a Millenial I guess). I listen to the stories my grandparents told about growing up in the late 30's/40's and the stories my parents told me about life in the 70's and I truely despise the direction North America is moving. I hate to say it but I think my grandparents got to enjoy the best times and my parents got to enjoy the tail end of them. Current times just straight up suck.

China has been living on diet of jungle trash for how many centuries now? USA starts putting their foot down on the drastically imbalanced economic setup between the two economies, all of a sudden the kung flu accidentally escapes a lab and the scientists involved all run into equally unfortunate accidental situations. Hmmmmmm

So here's my perspective as a self identified Xer:

(And have been sitting on the sidelines with popcorn watching a lot of Boomer vs. Millennial verbal mud wrestling, trying not to jump in when people get things wrong, but being very entertained.)

My reference has always been the books by Howe & Strause, 13th Gen & Fourth Turning. If you're idle for a while, check it out. Predicted a lot of what's going on.

Boomers did NOT fight in WW2 or Korea. By definition they are too young. So any cultural advancements made in the 40's or 50's cannot be credited to them. They came of age in the 60's. Even then they weren't "running things" but they were the "youth movement" that older generations capitulated to. They didn't "invent" the Mustang, they bought them.

Boomers, American Boomers, by ANY historical definition had the easiest existence in recorded human history. PERIOD. They could travel the world, had a life of leisure unimaginable to centuries of royalty, unrivaled medical care, and an economy where you could get a pretty good living standard for just showing up.

What pisses me (and most Xers) off is, they took the most amazing society in human history and managed to run it into the ground in under a century. We might not be the 1st generation after the fall of the Roman Empire but pretty darn close. The buy now, pay later attitude of boomers now extends to all levels of society. Selling major assets for peanuts, then walking away with the cash leaving nothing but crumbling edifices in their wake. They can't even erect monuments to their ego, they spend it all on fleeting indulgences.

Millennials are the ones getting the cold water shower though. They were for the most part lied to. They were told life would be easy (Xers usually had it hard) only to find out life is tough. They're turning the corner though, I thing more influenced by "make it work" Gen X then "fix it later" Boomers.

The GenZ is still to early to tell. But the poor ######## by my math are post 9/11 cynics. They don't believe in America for the most part, they've never known a president that wasn't scandal ridden. They have no love for the institutions of our nation and they are Balkanized by the Internet. More likely to identify as Green, Socialist, Nazi or LBGTQ then "american" (small a intentionally).

So the Boomer remover. Well, it's a catchy term but my fear is it will not be the Boomers the post-millennials will be looking to remove, but us Xers. And believe it or not, this was predicted in those books I mentioned. (And God help me I wish it wasn't.) The Boomers refused to "leave the stage" for 2 decades. (80 is the new 50) cutting millions of Xers off from corporate advancement. We should be in our peak earning years, instead we struggle, on crisis to another. The Millennials are poised to surpass us soon. As the Boomers finally die their way out of office, Millennials will quickly shoot to the top.

This is when I fear the Millennials, Zoomers and whatever comes next will fleet their anger at the rapidly dwindling Boomers, by striking GenX with both barrels. Austerity measures will cut social safety nets for seniors (as we become them.) the last vestiges of pensions will be eliminated. Taxes will probably be imposed on 401ks ("who has stocks anyway? Rich people!") and we'll probably see another sweeping youth movement.

It's sad that just being born 20 years late or early has had such a profound effect on my life, but there's not much I can do about it except put my head down and try to navigate it.

I saw a video that The Netherlands is doing something like this letting people get sick to recover and build immunity.

Unlike our plan where everyone shelters then probably gets sick when Stay At Home ends. We might get that immunity to, but in a very haphazard way.
