Most flatbed companies don’t pay to load. Only to tarp

And the crazy thing, they pay the same to load a Wylie double as they do a Moore double. With a Wylie double there is no A-frame climbing, no belly tarp or main tarp tying...the biggest hassle with a Wylie double is fighting the spread out conestoga frames to line up when it transitions from top rail to bottom rail. My DM said that they pay to load doubles, especially on Moore doubles, because you have to lace the tarps...but, he couldn't explain why they don't pay extra for every Moore double. You have to lace every one of those whether you live loaded or just drop/hook since they only tie the 4 corner and the back so the drivers can check the glass and the securement before hooking to the trailer.

that's the unique thing about loading glass, the driver a little more involved in the whole process than regular general freight. Frames have to be padded before being loaded, and the driver has to place padding between each pack. And this is all before any securement and safety edge protection is put in place.

That and it takes 2-4 hours to get loaded and everything tarped correctly, while most flatbed loads are in and out in under an hour.

And for those millennial drivers out there that had negligent parents who didn't teach you the basics, Love's has your back

I swear, it's almost comical to see some drivers during this beer flu pandemic. I have seen 3 or 4 drivers here in CO that are wearing bandanas over their mouth and nose. Bad news boys, that only makes you look silly, it won't stop a Corona virus attack.

Here is the best way to avoid catching the virus

I just came back to Wylie today after taking a local job for 8 months.
I can say I don’t have that warm and fuzzy feeling u had before.
It appears some things/people changed in that short time other than 1 or 2 people in the office that I dealt with prior.
Moving in to my truck tomorrow unless I back out.
I will sleep on it for the night before I bother putting my things in the truck...

The problem is, only n95 grade masks have small enough membrane to stop it, anything above that is totally ineffective. And the n95 grade masks are what is in short supply for medical personnel, let alone available for the general public. So I don't know why they'd force people to use something that doesn't work...but...it is Texas, they do things their own way down there.

My area in FL is taking one step closer to marshal law. My wife said she read that Alachua county will begin stopping drivers traveling thru the county, and only people who have the urgent need to be out of their home are allowed to be in public. And residents are suppose to designate one person in the household to do stuff like grocery shopping or picking up perscriptions. The only time more than one person is allowed to be out in public is for urgent medical care. Which sucks because my wife and mother-in-law both have regular visits to their doctors on a weekly basis. This is truely surreal, makes me wish I would have been born a generation earlier so I wouldn't have to live thru this ####
